  1. Came for dinner and drinks one evening and got a nice seat at the bar. We ordered a bunch of apps to share, though they DO have a couple selections for entrees. This is mostly a snacks/bar spot. Could make a good date spot as well.

we had about 5 glasses of white wine, 16 oysters, fried mac and cheese, thai chicken wings, crab/spinach artichoke dip, and a burrata salad.

Overall, oysters were very good (there's a happy hour special for certain types), fried mac and cheese was a bit over salted but good nonetheless, the thai wings were my favorite. They're sweet, tangy, sticky and messy. (stay away for date night if you're trying to impress) The burrata was AWESOME. but you can't go wrong with burrata. Crab dip is cheesy and heavy but really good when it's fresh and hot with the toasted baguette.

great service! they charged my phone since it was low on juice. 🙂

  2. Happy Hour specials:
Oysters ranging from $1.00 to $2.50
Drink specials (cocktails $11-$13), beers ($6-$8)
I would recommend making reservations ahead of time just do you have a place to sit. They have an outdoor patio in the back, but no one was sitting there since it's too hot right now. There are 8 bar stools at the bar and the middle of the restaurant can seat about 22-ish people total (including the couch area). Our waiter, Joel, was awesome. He was very friendly, attentive, and super nice. I would go back just because I had a great experience there.

  3. My friends and I came here primarily for the all-day oyster happy hour, and while the Blue Point oysters ($1.25 pc), Hog Island oysters ($1.00 pc), and cocktails were indeed very good, the rest of the experience was pretty mediocre.

We started off with a plate of Asian rock shrimp, a dish that was on the list of specials. It was essentially shrimp cooked in a heavy batter of sweet and sour sauce. (Think of that chicken that you can get at PF Chang's.) It was so heavy that I couldn't even tell it was shrimp. What a waste of seafood…I would not recommend this dish.

We also tried the truffle fries, which were covered in truffle oil, cheese, and prosciutto and came with a side of aioli. While the dish was tasty initially, it quickly became far too heavy for my taste.

What bothered me the most was the service. The ordering process was incredibly slow. While we intended to order more food after we finished our side dishes, we decided to call it a night because we didn't want to wait around for another hour. Additionally, our server did not regularly refill our water, and she forgot a half dozen of oysters from our order.

  4. Omg. The chicken wings here are to die for!!!!!! The oysters here are really yummy as well. We were greeted at the door and sat down at the bar for happy hour. Our waitress was super welcoming and nice and offered a good amount of things on their menu. We went with the happy hour wings and oysters, which were super fresh and it comes with mini bottles of tabasco(CUTE). I also had the stella cider ($5 happy hour) and it was delish. I definitely recommend!

  5. What a surprise! I don't normally come to 10th ave, a friend of mine suggested here and I absolutely loved it.

The cocktail here is delicious, I had a watermelon drink with vodka, I hesitated at first as most of watermelon cocktail I had tends to be too sweet. But this one was so refreshing and light, but it also gives a good punch of vodka.

We had a quite bite, ordered the sliders and french fries, it was yummy and the portion was fairly generous.

The staffs here were also very friendly and fast. I am coming back for sure!

  6. I love raw oysters! So do my friends! But White Oak's happy hour oyster was so disorganized that it made all of us not want to come back.
My girlfriends and I wanted to go out for oyster happy hour. So I googled oyster happy hour and picked White Oak from a top 15 list (and based on their Hell's Kitchen location).

The food was decent. Happy hour oysters were 1.25 per Blue Point oyster all day. The oysters were clean, well shucked. They had a slight brine and some were plump. The happy hour wings were 1.25 a piece. I liked the cheesy parmesan wings and thai wings.
But the problem was the lack of communication between the manager, the waitress and oyster shucker. One person told us the oysters cost $1.25 all day. A sign outside said $1 per oyster during happy hour.
Another server said until $1.25 per oyster until 6pm.

The drinks were initially 2 for 1. We had 4 people and 6 drinks. But when the bill came, the manager charged us for 5 drinks when she should have charged us for 3. Then she informed us that 2 for 1 only applies per person until 6pm. So she charged us for 4 drinks.
And it took us half an hour to get the bill. Then 15 minutes to get the final wrong bill.
The whole process was so irritating, and felt like a bait and switch that no one wanted to come back.

  7. All-day happy hour with an unspoken 2 drink minimum. I ordered two beers and enjoyed a vairety of select oysters pre-selected for the day ($1 – $3 each the day I went). Thursday evening at 6PM was not as crowded as I had imagined. There were spots by the couches amd spots in the garden out in the rear but we opted for the last remaining table. Walking in, I was a little confused because there was nobody standing there to meet or seat us. Eventually someone came by and from that point on the evening went smoothly. Joel from the bar was very attentive and friendly. Will love to be back!

  8. 1. Took awhile for us to even get the menu once seated
    2. When we got the oysters, server did not bring utensils so we had to ask for them (two servers saw us trying to flag them down but blatantly ignored us. I think raising a hand is the universal gesture of 'hi, I have a question/ask', no?)
    3. We got a bottle of wine to share and not once did the server pour to refill our glasses after the initial corking
    4. Server tipped over the wine bucket and spilled water on my calf leather bag
    5. Then they were quick to give us the check after a terribly slow service throughout
    6. Made no gesture at all to compensate for everything they did wrong that night

    Will not be returning.
