  1. Purchased a Groupon that includes 2 sandwiches and 2 small salads. We ordered the cheese steak and a pastrami sandwich, great portions. The cheesesteak tasted pretty good and was juicy. Pastrami was errr..alright. The cole slaw? Took a bite and tossed it out, no flavor and watery dressing…ugh!

  2. was in the neighborhood and stopped by because my friends were raving about the sandwiches. had a combo pastrami and brisket sandwich. the guy at the counter was real friendly. you walk in order, pay and sit down. we left a tip for the guy because he was so nice to us even though we kept asking so many questions about the menu and probably annoyed him

food was alright. maybe I just don't know how to appreciate pastrami? a bit dry for me. I don't think I would come back for another visit. I love brisket as well but that was dry too.

  3. Enjoyed the brisket and pastrami.  Sliced thin and really tender.  Cole slaw needed salt.  Not much atmosphere to speak of.  Prices are high…$17 sandwich?  Really?

  4. Came here with a friend who had a groupon deal for two that included a sandwhich and a side of salad of your choice! When I was there, I was debating between the pastrami and the corn beef because of the reviews and recommendation! I decided to go with the pastrami and it was delicious (alil salty for me tho) but that was ok coz they had some gravy sauce along with it to cover it up. Order a macaroni salad as my side and it was surprisingly good as well. My friend ordered the brisket which was alittle more on the plain side but taste fine with the gravy sauce. He ordered the potato salad and it was yummy as well. For the groupon deal, it was totally worth it, but regardless with or without the deal, I would come back for more and try the other options there is!!

  5. If you're looking for a good place to eat in Bay Ridge then come to this place, David's Brisket House. A great find in the local area. It will definitely satisfy you stomach.

You come here to get their sandwiches. I got a small pastrami sandwich on white bread, small french fries, and a slice of carrot cake.

The pastrami sandwich comes with pickles. It was juicy, flavorful, not overly greasy, and a tasty sandwich. A great pastrami sandwich. I wish I had got a bigger size sandwich, so it would have come with more pastrami.
The french fries weren't bad either. They crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The carrot cake was really good. It was very moist and not overly sweet. I love the frosting that was on the cake. It went well with the carrot cake.

A good place to grab a bite whether you decide to sit in or take out. Get the pastrami sandwich. I have to try the brisket sandwich next time.

  6. If your heart and stomach can take it, the Brooklyn Cheesesteak sandwich at David's Brisket House may be the very best sandwich you've ever had. Their brisket is excellent- tender and juicy with just the right amount of fat. It's flavorful and pretty good itself without the big piece of bread the sandwich is built upon. I'm not a big meat eater and probably wouldn't go out of my way to go to David's Brisket House again but if you are into meat, by all means support this business over and over again. Their pastrami also looks very promising.

The Brooklyn Cheesesteak sandwich is hefty and perfectly sized for sharing. The sandwich is huge in every aspect. The meat is piled high, the bread is firm and sops up the cheese and grease without going soggy or flat, and the sandwich is flavored with a generous portion of grilled onions. It also comes with some serious pickles. Be prepared to walk out with leftovers or a belly if you don't share this sandwich.

The restaurant is simple. There is a counter where you place your order and pick up take out. There are a few tables to sit at. The beverages are serve yourself from the fridge. If you buy lemonade, it comes in those giant plastic containers (like the ones for soup from the Chinese restaurants). Also, the restaurant is always cooking so be prepared to be in a smoky and smelly place. It doesn't smell bad, you will just leave with your clothes smelling like food.

  7. I have absolutely glowing remarks for this sandwich shop from the start.  While David's Brisket House specializes in brisket, the real winner here is the award-winning, absolute best corned beef and pastrami this side of Brooklyn.  An extension of the original David's Brisket House in Bed-Stuy (you'll definitely want to visit that too), I've followed the story and was a fan soon after they first opened in Bay Ridge.

I've been here several times, and never disappointed. As most can attest, I love meat, and this place is no exception. They have just about any combo you can think of as any Kosher-style deli would only they're not Jewish, they're very much Muslim as they also close shop in time for prayer (check your watch if you plan to go around those times).

The pastrami by itself is sublime, as is the corned beef. Together on rye or a roll, heavenly! I've done that and had a side of small fries too. (Yes, I'm a glutton, punish me!) You get to choose different size sandwiches too. You're not forced into choosing the Gi-normous servings that others have you reluctantly deciding on because it's the New York touristy thing to do. Yes, I'm talking specifically about Katz and Carnegie!  The coup de grace is the lemonade. You have a choice of pink or regular, either way you can't go wrong. You get a full pint and then some!

The decor isn't much to waste time describing. It is deli-like, but you're really here for the food. Focus on that.  The staff are also thoughtful and well-versed in the art of meat sandwiches. If you decide that's not for you, there are also philly cheesesteaks you could sink your teeth into but that would constitute a crime in my books. Would you go to a steakhouse for a burger or fish? Exactly.

    Challenge accepted:
The next time I return, I'll be participating in the "Three-the-Hard-Way" challenge…  9 minutes to eat a sandwich that includes brisket, corned beef, and pastrami.

    Extra:
If you're a foodie, watch the video on Serious Eats, and read up on their features on NY Times, and Village Voice. You'll want to hop in your car or the train and get there right after that.

  8. delivery is speedy! the food was pretty legit. they dont give enough meat for the regular sandwiches though. pickles are SOURR
