  1. The portions were great but I was surprised to see that the rice was just regular rice. The chicken kebob was good but I was confused between what was chicken and what were fries, because they were cut the same… The falafel kebob platter was huge and delicious but again, the rice was just regular rice. The pita bread was a nice kick to the platter. Definitely worth a try!

  2. Basically a take out place. Great gyros with lots of meat. Great friendly service. They seem to be really busy with take out orders that are called in since there were no customers when I was there. No a/c so I would not eat at the little tables there. Not great ambience but food is very good and the guys are friendly.

  3. 4.5 because the gyro chicken meat inside the pita was just not good but rating everything else we had, I would give the platters 5 stars..mainly for the lamb – melt in your mouth, flavorful, and everything else on the platter (and the pita) – delicious.   Very nice guys working here too.  The only take-out place in the area I've found that I will definitely return to.

  4. I picked up a Hercules sandwich from here last week. The thing was massive for me. It was $10.81 and worth the price for the portion. Easily can be shared by two people…and I was very hungry before I started eating it.

The gyro meat itself was okay. I have definitely have had better gyro (Steinway halal cart, Dafni in the city), but it was decent. Too many onions in my opinion which masked the flavor of the gyro. If I come back I will get it with no onions.

Decent sandwich from a local spot.

  5. I have already written a review or two about my new favorite Greek spot but had to come back and praise them on their customer service. I called leaving work around 5:00pm on a Friday for a delivery to be placed later on that day because for some reason I couldn't get through on the website. I told them my address and was informed that due to under staffed delivery guys that night, they were unable to deliver. I was annoyed and upset because I really wanted my fix.

Just as I was dialing the number to another option, The Greek Place called me back, told me they just got a couple more delivery guys in and if I didn't place my order already they would love my business. Wow, now that's what I call amazing service! This place has been impressing me more and more every time I order and I will continue to be a regular customer.

  6. Yelpers love this place?! I must investigate.

There are reviews talking about these "Sandwiches", big belly buster mamma jammas.
Hearing about big Greek sandwiches turns me off. I'm not in search of a big sandwich with french fries. I'm looking for good Avgolemeno (It's Greek Chicken Soup with a Egg-Lemon Sauce)

I walk in and it's a small restaurant. If you're bringing a bunch of buddies to eat here, you'll bringing back lunch to the office. There isn't enough seating.

I ask about the Avgolemeno. The owner comes over and tells me he lets the soup slowly cook to release the natural starches. Hmm.. that sounds like a mighty good method. I order a Greek salad topped with gyro meat, a cup of Avgolemeno and something called Baklava pita chips?!

First the soup, Mmmm.. Its thick and lemony. Something like my grandmother would make. Mmm mm.

Next Greek salad. I want to be good, I ordered a salad! But then comes the salad topped with yummy Gyro meat and that makes a salad a super salad. I was eating the gyro meat trying to get to the salad. it was just topped with Greek deliciousness.

Finally the baklava pita chips. Holy Moley! These chips are something you can't put down, they were soon good! I had a buddy with me and we were eating these chips like two drunk sailors on leave. The chips left us slap happy. And we didn't finish! I brought home the chips and my wife was also giddy. Trust me, they're that good.

The owner came around and we started BSing. He's a nice family guy from Long Island who has a small business. Great Greek food being made here in New Hyde Park, I'm proud to support a locally owned businesses.

  7. Came here for gyros. Ok this place is a hole in the wall and to be honest needs a bit of an upgrade. Its dingy and dark. But the cashier is very nice, greeted you with a smile and repeated the order. Everyone behind the counter is smiling and having a great time. The gyro was by far one of the best gyros Ive ever had. The meat was amazingly juicy and fantastic. The sauce was spread evenly across the gyro. The lettuce and onions were extremely fresh and just the right amount. I asked for it to go but couldnt wait to get home and ate it in the car. Absolutely delicious.

  8. I went here today.  I had a chicken souflaki with a side Greek salad.  This place is definitely take-out.  There are only two tables in there.  The chicken souflaki was great.  Instead of cubed it was shredded making it easier to eat.  I used the Yelp side sale offer and made it an inexpensive meal.
