  1. Flavors is one of the places I go to the most for breakfast and consider it pretty basic and standard, but good.  Lunch items are ok, but not great.  Solid 3-Stars, but nothing more.

They probably make the best omelettes (for a casual spot) in the area at a reasonable cost.  You can pick and choose your ingredients and the place is very clean and sanitary.

For Breakfast, I usually get the:

    1. Omelette with ham or turkey, cheese, broccoli, peppers and scallions
    2. Toasted Corn Muffin with extra butter
    3. Toasted Croissant with butter and a side of jam

The bagels are mediocre and I would pass on them.  If you want bagels, go to Leo's a few blocks away on Hanover Square, which has the best bagels in the Financial District.

The oatmeal is also mediocre and I would pass on it, and go to Water Cafe a few blocks down on Water Street, which lets you make your own oatmeal and they have a ton of fruit toppings you can add, which are all fresh.

The sandwiches are mediocre as well and I'd go Potbelly instead which is a few blocks away on Maiden Lane.

So, like I said, stick to the breakfast items and you'll be happy, otherwise, you'll be slightly disappointed with anything else, just my opinion.

Overall, Flavors is a good, solid 3-star breakfast spot, nothing more, nothing less.

  2. I'm not really in the mood to write a review right now, so I'll keep this nice and concise.

There are two reasons why I'm giving this place 3 stars.

1: In urgent need for a bathroom, I found the neighboring Starbucks line to be well over a half an hour wait, maybe even an hour. There's a certain sense of despair you get when you suddenly realize that long line wasn't for ordering drinks. Anyways, I ended up here aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand what a god-send. I'll spare the details because, well… poop.

Poop: (You get it? Because it's #2 (Haha, you're so clever Quoc)). The Chicken Parmesan Sandwich tasted like it was made in The Great Depression, thus causing my own personal Great Depression. I wanted to end on that little joke there, but I feel an obligation to tell you lovely viewers that there's something wrong with a sandwich when you bite into it and cannot figure out which substance was the meat or cheese.

    3. On a completely unrelated note, my favorite romance is Edward Scissorhands.

If it wasn't for the bathroom, I'd give it poop stars.

Get it? Because poop is #2.

    Hehe, I crack myself up.

  3. I've only ever been here for breakfast, but enjoy it. It's mostly take-out traffic, but there are a few stools by the window for people who choose to eat-in.  It's moderately priced and the staff is super friendly and quick. If you go in regularly, they even remember your order. Even during the height of the morning rush, it never takes very long to get your order.

  4. How can you beat the build your own salad bar when you can add so many ingredients for a flat price of $9? There are organic choices too. Fantastic lunch place. The line goes fairly fast so don't be put off by long lines. Sandwich and soup choices available.

  5. New York City seems to have a spot for a quick sandwich or salad on about every corner.  New Yorkers are always on the move and need to get breakfast or lunch in less than a New York minute.  Lucky for my Mother and I, we came across Flavors Cafe in lower Manhattan where we were looking for a quick bite for breakfast.

It was the large signs offering Quinoa Breakfast bowls that drew us in.  They serve three styles of quinoa bowls- Asian, Spanish and Moroccan.

My Mom ordered the B2 (or the Mexican version)- two soft fried eggs over top kale, cilantro, feta, red onions, avocado, tortilla chips and gluten-free quinoa.  A mild chipotle sauce rounds out this dish.  A very healthy breakfast.

I went for the B3 (or the Moroccan version)- two soft fried eggs over kale, portabello mushrooms, caramelized onions, chickpeas, feta and quinoa mixed in a sweet and spicy traditional Moroccan sauce.  Spicy enough to kickstart the morning, healthy and filling enough to keep you going throughout your travels.

We were very pleased.  We also enjoyed the fresh homemade lemonade.

Other options include omelettes, bagels and yogurt parfaits for breakfast; sandwiches, salads, soups and pastas for the lunch crowd.  There are three locations, all found in lower Manhattan.  There are plenty of choices for all diets, however, you won't find any pork here.

  6. Sandwiches and wraps here are average. Flavors is not a place I would go out of the way to eat at, but it's a filling and relatively healthy lunch option. Chicken is too dry for my liking. The cold pasta salads are surprisingly quite flavorful, so I would recommend that. I've also tried things from the dessert platter. The cannoli was soggy and too sweet, would not recommend.

  7. I like Flavors.

The Soups are very good and Fresh.

The Sandwiches are delicious and fresh.

The fruit cups are also fresh.

The salads are great with numerous options. There are various stations depending on what you are in the mood for. In addition – the people are very nice.

  8. 3.5 stars. Our work place orders from here all the time. Everything is packaged very well and they have a pretty large selection of sandwiches/wraps. Unfortunately, although the variety is good, the sandwiches themselves are not anything too special. They are sometimes a bit soggy but are generally okay-flavored. A plus is that they always taste pretty fresh.

I really enjoy their salad. The cucumbers in particular are delectably crisp. I enjoyed their pasta salad as well. They have an impressive selection of desserts as well. I thought the tarts and cream puff stood out, although I've had better elsewhere.

Overall fine for a quick lunch but I can't see myself as a regular if I have the choice.
