  1. I love going to Pret and it's not just because, they have great sandwiches waiting for you to grab them up, so it's fast and delicious, but because the employees have to be the nicest, most cheerful of any in Midtown.  Honestly, you are always greeted with a smile and a "How are you?"  It's a rare thing for "fast food" employees, but it is greatly appreciated!

The sandwiches speak for themselves – always fresh and delicious.

  2. I've seen Pret a M's all over the city, so I decided to make a quick stop for a mid-afternoon pick me up.

It's an interesting concept, with pre-packed sandwiches, salads, snacks and bottled drinks lining the entire left wall when you walk in. We grabbed a cup of fruit, a pastry, and coffee and a iced chai. Even though we were the only people in line, it took nearly 5 minutes of waiting to pay since they made our drinks before charging us. It felt kind of awkward to sit and start eating before paying, so we just waited at the counter.

Once we got the drinks, I was disappointed. The hot chocolate was just ok, but the bf seemed to enjoy it. The iced chai was terrible! It was made with a tea bag and it was really watery. I brought it back to the counter and they kindly replaced it an iced vanilla latte, free of charge.

I'm not sure I'd stop by again during my trip, but this location was clean and the service was friendly.

  3. Alternative to Starbucks with an emphasis on good sandwiches.

Even though I usually go to Starbucks, I've decided to look around. Since I don't drink coffee, I'm looking for a place to work, which means that wifi and good food are critical.

Unlike Starbucks, Pret has pretty good and substantial sandwiches, though I do enjoy Starbuck's baked goods. You just can't eat them every time you want to work.

I got lucky and came in when the chicken mozzarella was just coming out. It's about as fresh as you can get.

Two points of concern for a workspace: not clear if there's a restroom and there's only one set of power outlets.

  4. Very good coffee; excellent croissants.  Counter help is personable and friendly.   Good overall.

  5. I stop by this Pret at least once a week for my beloved Bang Bang Chicken Wrap (seriously, the best wrap ever and slightly addictive.) It's always delicious, generally no wait time (and this is at lunch time) and the staff is pleasant — all ideal for a grab-and-go sandwich shop.

  6. Pret is a go-to grab-and-go sandwich, salad, pastry, coffee, soup all-encompassing shop.  Their motto is "here today, gone today!" meaning every day they make fresh sandwiches in the kitchens at each site.  And whatever doesn't sell by day's end, they donate to charity – usually to City Harvest.

Everything they make *appears* healthy.  But since they have so many locations, they are required to post nutritional content.  The calorie counts aren't that bad, so why not?  Careful, though – the sodium in almost everything the sell is extremely high.

The staff at this location can't be kinder.  They are friendly, yet professional.  And always ready to help a customer but still follow the usual Pret steps of service.
