  1. Ordered a bagel. Not hot; not crusty. Just mushy and really salty.

  2. I don't really like the name of this establishment. In fact, it disturbs me. However, this place is very close to my office, so when I was sending the boyfriend back to Chicago *sob*, we stopped in.

Unfortunately, the dining area is definitely outfitted like a clown's bathroom (bright orange, purple and pink tiles) sans the clown toilet.

Overall, the food is cheap and fast. It's a good place to grab a bite to eat or to bid farewell to your sweetheart, before you send them off on the Airport Express out of the Port Authority.

  3. I think we stopped by to grab something to eat at Hot & Crusty almost everyday i was in NY. Easy, convenient, and cheap. This place really hit the spot each time we came. I tried most of their pizzas. Mushroom, bacon and mushroom, mushroom and spinach, etc. They all did not disappoint. Each slice was approximately $2.00.

They also have a build-your-own salad station. You choose between 2 different greens and then you have a wide array of selections in what you want to add i.e. corn, grilled chicken, carrots. Once you choose your add-ons you pick your dressing and they mix it all together in a bowl for you. Then they throw everything in a salad bowl so you can conveniently take it on the go.

To top it off, they have a pasta station in the back. You can build your own pasta or go with something that's already on the menu. I didn't see anyone get pasta each time I was there but I was eyeing the spinach and shrimp marinara pasta. It was our goal to get that before we left for JFK but unfortunately we woke up too late.

I loved this place. It was convenient and consistent. I was never disappointed and I always finished my food wanting more.  Closes late and opens early.

  4. We popped by for some bagels to go. The service was incredibly fast. I rattled off four different unique bagel orders. They fried the eggs, toasted the bagels, and got every order perfect, in a few short minutes.

Delicious on our last morning in NYC, when we "had to have a NY bagel".

  5. $6 for a pretty decent side breakfast with 2 eggs, "home fries", and meat. $5 for a breakfast sandwich is pricy, but you are in the heart of NYC. For the proximity to Port Authority, speed of service, and value. I highly suggest this place for a quick breakfast before heading out of the city.

  6. Late night NYC pizza two blocks from the holiday inn express.  Satisfying!

  7. Came here for breakfast a long time ago and I wouldn't recommend it.

Last week I decided to go back, but this time for lunch. Ordered a shrimp pasta where they make it in front of you, and I really enjoyed it. I guess I was expecting a bland dish, but it ended up being pretty good.

Place has some seating in the back, and it's never crowded.
