Kind of an odd space. I suppose it's like a souped up cafe. It could use more seating in the front, and the high tables are not the most comfortable. However, the menu is large. I wouldn't necessarily seek out this spot; I could see bringing my parents here if I happened to be in the area already, I suppose.
After coming here for a month I really enjoyed this place. I've dined in and enjoyed their breakfast but their iced cafe au lait is my favorite. So if I need coffee I come here. It's just under $5 which is more expensive than what I normally get at any other spot but it's amazing. So just yesterday I went in and found out they implemented a $5 minimum. Umm okay. Today I went in and ordered my usual iced cafe au lait and a Nutella banana croissant when I saw that they had my favorite blood orange San Pellegrino I decided to get that instead of a croissant. Well the chick with the accent decided to tell me to make up my mind. Not charging $7 for a croissant with a smear of Nutella and a $.50 banana you won't speak to me like that. I didn't pay for my order yet and no one made the croissant. I'm able to change my mind if I so please. She made it seem like I come in here everyday confused on life. I usually have my shit together. Speak to the customers like they pay your bills. I have no need to continue to spend my money here. I have a Starbucks a block away from me and many other establishments near my place of employment.
My friend and I stumbled across this place after walking the Brooklyn Bridge – so glad we did! It's a cozy little cafe type place with a bar and table service that's perfect for grabbing a quick lunch. The grilled cheese was outstanding… it came with fontina, cream cheese, tomatoes and pickles on it! Prices are pretty decent, $10-15 for most sandwiches, and they have a lot of options! Wine is pricer but beers are cheap, I got a Corona for $5.
The food was alright and a bit on the pricey side. The service was extremely friendly and we didn't have any problems. The cafe is clean and bright, perfect for the sunny morning we visited on. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but it's convenient in the location it's at and I'd stop in again for coffee and juice.
This is such a great place to have in the hood. Breakfast and lunch options that are healthy seem to be hard to find. The servers are so hospitable and kind. No laptops in the afternoon, but you can carve out a great spot for coffee and a snack with some work in the morning.
I'm on a pretty specific diet and typically bring my own lunch to work. On occasions when I don't, I come here to get lunch. I am a BIG fan of the pull chicken platter with brown rice and roasted veggies — topped with chipotle sauce.
Delicious, healthy and they also have a great iced tea. They accept credit card (another plus) and you can sit outside nearby to have lunch if the weather is nice.
I highly recommend the bbq pulled heritage pork entree. It's a good-sized dish with bbq sauce, wild rice, veggies and pork. If you prefer salad, one of my friends ordered the portobello salad and she insists it was delicious. Top it off with tiramisu and you're all set. The service was fine.
This space looks more like a bar from outside, but you'll find ample table seating inside. I thought it cool to have the seating area up on the mezzanine level, giving you a bird's eye view of the action. My experience there was fine and I can't write this review without pondering the bad reviews, though. I'm kinda looking forward to meeting the owner.
My friends and I ordered, paid and then wanted to sit down in their dinning area. We were told no. So our order wasn't good enough? Yet they had plenty of tables. Guy managing was rude.
The food was good. Better selection than all the food trucks.
Service poor. Not friendly.
