LOVE their signature dish the "ChimiKeke"You can get it with all different fillings….. Chicken, beef, pork etc. It's their very own creation & you won't find it anywhere else. All of their dishes are delicious. Met with 2 of the owners… Altaira & George & they couldn't be no nicer. Open 24 hrs to boot. Definitely check them out
Let's just say I'd sell my soul for a chimikeke de pollo! It's that good… It is a blessing that they are open 24 hours because my friends and I always manage to find ourselves over here after late night drinks.
HORRIBLE!! If you're looking to get stabbed or shot, this is the place…the service sucks, the customers were drunk and carrying on…the food looked old and greasy. We ended up leaving after standing there for almost 10 mins on a line that never moved! The ambience in this place is less than desirable, better off going anywhere else!
Very Very late night the guys get hungry…what better than a Chimi place to satisfy that hunger! So the guys took a trip over here and got some frituras, sandwiches and more frituras. Frituras are known as "Spanish fired foods". My friend and I shared a Patacon de Carne(meat sandwich made with fried plantain instead of bread") this fits in a food container all by itself, and they guys got a variety of pork, fried chicken(Spanish style) sweet plantains, fried plantains and sweet potatoes. This place is open late…I mean like 3am late(i think). They were packed and busy so when the orders were placed you have to wait. Not too bad though. We were new to this place and didn't know exactly what to get. I suggest if you know what you're getting, then order ahead and save time. This place gets busy right on Atlantic Ave. They specialize in snacks and quick bites. Doesn't give you that sit down type of restaurant. But they were good and my friends will definitely be coming back for more.
I decided that two meals in one day at Chimi would provide a clear decision on this 24 hour South Ozone Park restaurant & sports bar.
Breakfast was swiftly served up by an engaging young lady, who provided me with information about the business as I munched down a cheese empanada, its crispy texture had me ordering another. The ground beef on the second empanada was kind of dry but the price kept me from grunting and groaning.
