I love the Hot & Crusty sign.
Before I go in there, the thought of some hot and crusty pizza, bagels or other baked pastries make me salivate.
I love that they're 24 hrs. I've come here multiple times when I stayed with my friend on a stopover. H&C saved me many times when it's late at night and there's nothing to eat.
The pizza is not as cheap as 2 bros dollar slice, and not as fresh but they do seem more substantial. The pizza has more crust, cheese and sauce which I like. I don't think it's worth the $3 or so price tag.
Their salads were kind of expensive. Each topping was like 2 bucks or so, but they do make a tasty salad.
This is just about the black and white cookie.
You can do better.
The deets!
Black and White cookie, 3: Seems dry to my taste.

After a visit to the sturgeon king around the corner. I enjoyed BEC – Bacon Egg and Cheese on a toasted Egg Bagel. It was only $6.5. They crisp the Bacon, cracked and fried some fresh Eggs, and they made sure my yellow American Cheese was thoroughly melted. The filling was delicious but the bagel was only so so. The Bagel was chewy and dense. The top was firm and there wasn't any nuance of flavor. It was good for what it was- inexpensive filling bagel.
To be honest, I don't know why I keep coming here. Maybe it's for the soup and wrap lunch combo that they have, but I've definitely had better soups and sandwiches for a better price.
I think that I come here every now and again when I'm working and having an extreme craving for soup. It's the closest place (in relation to my workplace) that I know of that serves soup – but then again, I haven't really looked. I've had a variety of their soups, most of them were pretty good, but I don't think it was worth the price. Some of their wraps are kind of suspicious looking, but I always take a chance and get it anyway. I think buying soup and a wrap separately isn't worth it, so if you're going to do anything of that nature, go for the combo.
But seriously, there's a credit card minimum. Who does that anymore?
Average bagels on the Upper West Side!
24 hours and fresh baked delicacies? Check. If I am honest I really only get the croissants from here. I think the cookies are a little dry but…those chocolate croissants. EVERY TIME I'M BACK IN THE CITY.
I ate there today in mid-morning with a friend (we each had soup and a bagel). My clam chowder and bagel were just "fair", but the prices were reasonable. Also, the guy serving us plus the woman at the cashier's were exceptionally friendly. Lastly, the restroom was very clean.
