The staff is very friendly here.
There are lots of outlets by the seats by the register on the first floor. There are only 2 on the 2nd floor, so plan accordingly if you coming here to get some school work done. The music varies depending of the day, but seems extra loud on the first floor, and that's coming from someone that usually does not give a crap about volume. There are booths upstairs and the restrooms are usually clean.
Most sandwiches are good. I usually get the ham and cheese sandwich on a baguette. It has just the right amount of mustard. It's my pret favorite. Avoid the tomato, basil and brie because it's so gross. Also avoid getting baguette sandwiches towards the end of the day because they'll very likely be soggy. Remember that practically all of them have mayo in them.
I really like the salt and vinegar chips. They are crunchier and more vinegary than most chips of their kind.
The soups are good, but I've seen them being thrown away by the staff too many times so I've stopped purchasing them because that makes me sad lol. Probably due to health code reasons (how long something can be "out"/temperature stuff & etc), but I'd rather not pay for that. For $4 for a small, I'd rather go to a diner for soup.
The coffee is surprisingly not awful, even the expresso shots were acceptable.
I'd suggest the kale chicken caesar salad, but honestly that's the only pret salad I've bothered to buy, due to overpricing.
Pret is a great spot if you want something quick. They have both breakfast, and lunch options. When I'm in the area for work, that's usually the spot that I'll hit up. The prices are decent, and there are a lot of options. ENJOY!
PS: GOOD GREEN STUFF, is a must gran juice when I'm there.
The upstairs cafe is great–spacious with cushioned seating and wifi. One thing: why can't the cashiers be even just a teensy bit friendly? Maybe a smile or acting in at least some way to suggest your are not imposing on their standing naps.
I know Pret A Mangers are everywhere in the city, but this location is top notch. I drop by almost every single day because it's convenient, delicious, and organized.
The employees are always so happy and enthusiastic, and I've gotten various free things during my visits, including an extra cookie here and there. My coworker even got a free lunch just for wearing purple one day. The fast and consistent service makes it that much more appealing.
And honestly, their food is good and fresh, and they always switch up their offerings! Plus, leftover sandwiches are donated every night.
Favorite things to get:
– Five grain oatmeal (with quinoa)
– Harvest cookie (basically an elevated raisin cookie)
– Butternut squash soup
– Kale caesar salad
– Iced coffee
– Mushroom egg sandwich on brioche bun
Fun fact: They're featured in the book "Demand: Creating What People Love Before They Know They Want It," which gives you a glimpse into their philosophy and how they decide which new items to launch.
Not bad stopped with my girls for quick cafe. Better than Sbux for sure. Quick service. Self serve coffee great idea. Good location of in Union Square.
Pret has some tasty, fresh, and quick lunch options. I had the butternut squash and apple soup and a bacon mac and cheese. I got the butternut squash and apple soup because they were giving out little samples and I loved it. Later on, they came around with a creamy chicken soup and it was equally great. The bacon mac and cheese was a bit on the salty side. Perhaps, next time I would get the tomato mac and cheese instead. I've also tried their egg sandwich and it was fresh. The bread is not dried out like a lot of pre-made sandwiches. I've had their regular chicken soup (the clear kind) and I'm not too crazy about that one, but that could be just my preference.
Very convenient location near my school. If you have no time to wait in line, this is the place to go for a quick lunch. There's soup, salads and sandwiches.
a good amount of seating which is really nice. prices are fair and there's wifi, awesome
