  1. Wow, this place. I came into the deli to grab three sandwiches and was left waiting for close to thirty minutes! It wasn't busy, I placed my order and then wandered about the store. Three people who were getting deli meats were in and out before my order was ready.

I'm not sure what happened here, but my guess is the guy didn't see me so scratched my order. I was asked if I was being helped and told them I already placed my order and eventually the guy I initially spoke with realized I was there. Then there was a sudden rush of sandwich making.

If you order here, you have to make yourself known! Aside from this major error on their part, this deli does look pretty cool.

The deli preps different meats for BBQ'ing and has an assortment of patties, chicken, and 'kebabs for sale.

A potentially great deli but with below par service.

  2. What makes me wish that I was a Howard Beach resident more than anything? (Any the reasons are many) The Food!

Growing up with my first generation Italian grandparents close by, the quality and balanced food flavors that came out of the kitchen are truely memorable. No matter where my travels take me, I always have my radar honing in on authentic Italian.

Coming off the bridge, my eyes caught sight of Brothers and I hastily whipped my car around and in I went. The chatter amongst the patrons fit the motif and the menu board behind the counter had me close to a drool.
Sausage and peppers with onions was cooked to order and huge in size. The pepper & onion chunky cuts held the Italian sausage at bay in the rear, creating a symphony of flavors, all blending together properly.
The sandwiches seem priced a bit high, however once the high quality ingredient costs are considered and the physical size of your hero is revealed, the price is clearly appropriate.

I just couldn't depart without some mozzarella balls, broccoli rabe, sun dried tomatoes.

34 hero options, 29 pasta options, 23 appetizer options and the list continues. To not check out Brothers Hot Food to Go would be a culinary crime to be sure.

  3. Eggplant rollatini is delish! Everything's always fresh and there's never a wait. A neighborhood staple.
