I was walking or should I say dodging tourist down 8th Avenue to the City Kitchen to get some takeout and I just found this place the Sugar Factory as part of the Row Hotel on 8th Avenue which the City Kitchen share on the 2nd floor. And I'm thinking is this new or just another place on 8th Avenue that I missed again? I Yelped it and can't find it and so I add the business to Yelp and start taking photo's. I ask this guy inside who turns out to be the Manager, Charleston about the place and he said they just open two weeks ago and that they were just added to the company web page. Charleston and the other staff where real friendly and helpful answering my questions and were real excited they were being Yelped.
And then I realize I have another;
Tri-Yelp-Fecta, first to Check-in, first to Tip, and first to Review.
It's hard to believe a street that a million people pass every week and no one did them yet or at least I hope not. So with no other Yelpers doing any reviews I'm stepping to the plate. 😉
The store is real spot light bright and clean white walls with chandeliers all over the place I think I got a tan after stepping inside. They are offering a delicious assortment of candies, pops, pastries, breakfast favorites, sandwiches, yummy milkshakes and sundaes, ice cream and yes Gelato,
I was not sure what to get but for now I got had the Key Lime pie and it was MEH. I think the mixer broke down and someone chewed the ingredients together I don't know how can something taste so bad. Woe but the staff is super cool and friendly and the Manager Charleston is real proud of his shop. I will give them the benefit of the doubt this time, but I will be back and if they again have some bad tasting dessert or ice cream I will have to take a star or two off.
Cute little candy oasis around the Times Square area. Salespeople were as helpful as they could be. The one kid who tried to help us didn't know what was in the showcase. It was some kind of fruit tart, but he had no idea what. We bought it anyway, along with some candy. Turns out it was mango fruit tart and boy was it good!!
