  1. Food is comparable to other Paneras but it can get pretty busy during peak meal times. During those times tables are hoarded by people doing "work" for hours and not really eating a meal at the moment.  Thus tables for groups greater than two are hard to come by.

The lines can get pretty long too.  Thank goodness there are multiple kiosks where you can order your food without getting on line.  The kiosks let you easily customize your order as well (additions and omissions to sandwiches or salads).

Once you place your order they can locate you via tracker and bring the food to your table. Unfortunately, sometimes a table is hard to come by.

  2. I was a fan of Panera Bread years ago when I traveled frequently to Reston, VA. This was my first visit back in a long time. The experience my family and I had in the brand new East Brunswick location left little to be desired. First off, the place is poorly designed and poorly laid out. Patrons waiting to order are all jammed up in queues that end up blocking the main entrance. If you aren't ready to order and want to read the menu, you have to jockey for position amid all the people trying to order, and then work your way back out to get on line when you're ready. Considering they built a new wing onto the mall to accommodate this store, you'd think they'd have been smarter about this. Then, the food. Maybe my expectations of food quality have gone up in the years since I used to eat here, but this was not the Panera Bread experience I remember. Sandwich turkey was extremely processed and creepy, and the salad ingredients were not very fresh. This is the kind of quality I would expect if I were picking up a salad and sandwich at 7-11, which I would never in a million years do. And after this experience, I expect it will be at least a million years before I return to this Panera Bread.

  3. Located next to the Tilted Kilt in the Brunswick Square Mall, you can enter in from the outside to go or hang in the mall with a toasty sandwich.

Similar to other Panera's, only difference I noticed as they have a GPS device that they give you if you choose a table where they can find where your sitting with and bring the food directly to the table so you don't have to get up and wait for your named to be called which was very convenient.

Beyond that business as usual, toasty sandwiches and salads like normal.

  4. My girlfriend came home with what looked like the biggest waste of $10 I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure she could have gotten more food in NYC for the money. Soup and Salad combo.. The soup was about 3/4 full in comparison to what I've seen her bring home before. The bread?! It looked like when somebody hates the corner so they cut off juuuust enough that it's no longer a corner piece. It was probably about 2 inch's big. A midget would have called it small. Little person…whatever. Oh yeah these morons forgot the salad dressing. I partially blame my girlfriend for always getting food to go and never checking inside the bag, but either way when putting together a soup and salad combo it should be muscle memory to throw in some damn dressing. Fools.

  5. I generally do not like going to Panera because they do such a sloppy job of food preparation particularly in "sandwich construction".  However, this Panera did an excellent job of making my chipotle chicken sandwich correctly.  In other words, the two halves of the sandwich were identical.  At other locations, I have found that the simple task of making a sandwich and cutting it in half so that both halves are essentially the same, never works out.  My compliments to this location for getting it right.  I also liked that they bring the food to table instead of having to wait on a line to pick it up.  Counterperson needs to speak a little more slowly or clearly for these old ears.  Nice seating both inside the restaurant and at some tables set up in the mall's lobby.

Please note that if you switch tables before your food arrives, you should notify them since the tracking device they give you for your food remains "attached electronically" to the first table you place it on.

  6. The food is standard across the board, so no complaints from me. As for the service, at the register or even the people bringing the food and taking away the plates, they're younger in general, but also efficient and friendly for the most part.

I like there is a little outdoor seating area, and since it's connected to the mall, it's convenient to go browsing or there are tables outside the establishment, near an entrance, plus WIFI.

In general, this mall is central to a bunch of local central towns, so you get A LOT OF teens here, rowdy or otherwise, especially on Friday nights when they have nothing else to do than roam the somewhat small mall aimlessly, or weekends, and summer time. It's a bit annoying, but what can ya do?

  7. I don't go to Panera very often because they don't have a ton of vegan options, but my friend and I went to this location for breakfast this morning.

I'm really surprised to read all the bad reviews here because I had a great experience. In fact, I kept remarking to my friend how nice/helpful everyone was to us.

The cashier, first of all, was warm and welcoming. She checked with the kitchen staff to get me an answer I asked about whether or not the oatmeal is made with milk (it's not and is vegan as far as I can tell). Also she just had a great, happy spirit and was making friendly conversation and jokes with us. She seemed like she enjoys her job.

I ordered the steel-cut oatmeal with strawberries and pecans, and my friend chose the turkey sausage and egg white sandwich and a granola parfait.

Next, the woman who expedites the food to the pick-up area happily got me extra items that I requested. She went out of her way to get my friend a spoon when there were none to be found. Also, just before I walked away, she asked, "Would you like more strawberries for your oatmeal?" Of course I want more strawberries. She just seemed happy to go out of her way for the customers.

I have to admit that my friend's sandwich looked good and like it had been made with care.

This Panera location was clean and has ample seating. I can imagine it must get pretty crowded and chaotic for lunch and later in the day. However, it was a peaceful and pleasant place to eat breakfast on a Saturday morning.
