  1. Good decent bubble tea, not too sweet, and the tapioca pearls were just right! I didn't try anything else, but the crepes look tempting. Maybe next time! You will fork over a bit more money here, but really you are paying for quality, so I didn't mind 😉

  2. Have only tried the "crepes" and drinks here so can't speak to anything else.  First, the mango juice I got was excellent.   Actually tasted like mango and oh so fresh.  yum.  My friend's bubble tea was alright but nothing special.  I got the Hawaiian crepe, which is basically a mountain of lettuce, ham, shrimp, and pineapple, drenched in a sweetish mayonnaisey sauce, stuffed into a crispy shell.  It is definitely not a crepe, more like a large ice cream cone.  Taste was pretty good, but it got a little overwhelming, with all the sauce on it.  It is definitely filling.
Decor is typical food courtish atmosphere, but it is nice that there is a lot of space and pretty clean. Oh, and the service was pretty good and I appreciate the fact that everyone there spoke really good English (which is not always the case in Flushing).

  3. We had the shaved ice with 3 toppings. We picked strawberries, mangos, and kiwi. Fruits were soo fresh! And they gave a lot.

  4. I recommend coming to Cafe Jo Jo for the shaved ice. I used to go to Flushing Mall, but lately their topping selection has gone downhill.

Cafe Jo Jo has a nice selection of fresh fruits including mangoes, strawberries, bananas, a variety of jellies and sweet beans, and some canned fruits as well. They top it all off with some condensed milk and sugar syrup.

The portions are ideal for sharing on a hot summer day, especially in this heat wave we're experiencing this week.

  5. Uggh. If I could give this place a 0, I would. This place is absolutely the WORST place I've ever been to. It's located in Queens Crossing, a very pretty mall with a so-so food court. I usually go to Ajisen Ramen, but during my lunch break one day, decided to try out one of Cafe Jojo's crepes. Worst. Idea. Ever.

I ordered the Land and Sea Combo (shrimp, lettuce, shaved pork, etc.) The lady who was making the crepe had me waiting for about 45 minutes for a freaking crepe. I was standing there, and saw the crepe starting to burn. She was also pulling ingredients out of the freezer which were not fresh at all. It was disgusting the way she handled the food. She used her bare hands, and placed the ingredients on an unwashed surface. When she pulled out the shrimp, they were frozen, so she just dumped them into the sink under hot water. Then she went to handle other customers, touch their money, and return to preparing my crepe WITHOUT washing her hands.

When she finally got around the making the crepe, all she did was put in a bunch of lettuce. By the time I got it, my lunch break was basically over, so I decided to eat and not argue. It was disgusting. There were pieces of ice still on the lettuce and shrimp. I went back and demanded a refund. This lady then had the NERVE to tell me that crepes are "supposed to be cold like that". When I demanded to speak to the manager, she grabbed the crepe out of my hand and threw it in the trash.

Meanwhile, another younger female worker arrived for duty and they began talking about me and my Indian friend in Chinese, thinking I couldn't understand. They were calling us cheap, fat, and vermin. When I spoke back in Chinese to tell her that I could understand, and that she shouldn't be calling us fat since she looked a good 300 pounds, she became flustered, and then handed me back my money.

I will NEVER go there again. The service is horrible and the food is horrible. For a decent meal, try Sbarro's, Ajisen, or Paris Baguette next door.

  6. THEY HAVE AMAZING PANINIs, $6 includes a full panini and a salad with topping! The staff is friendly and will offer you free samples. They also have various flavors of GELATO! They gave me a heaping pile of salad and their panini's are just perfect; better than real Italian places. Don't be alarmed; they're not TRYING to be Italian — it's one of those things where Asians add their own flavor to another cuisine. Not quite Asian fusion, but more for poor, college students like me. I recommend the Veggie panini with portabella mushrooms.

I'm not a fan of their Golden Milk Tea; tastes like bubble tea without the bubbles. I'm more of a traditional HK milk tea person.

I think their doors could've been designed better in terms of practicality. It opens and stays open, and the guards keep going back to close it because the cold air kept the customers frozen. And when you close the door, it slams the entire span of windows along with it.

  7. Cafe Jo Jo is like a nicer food court in the center of Flushing, in the New Queens Crossing.  Be warned, kids loiter here.  They buy a soda or snack and sit there with their friends for the entire day.  But besides that, they have nice tables and designer chairs, so it's more upscale than a typical mall food court.  There's a few choices for food, Cafe Jo Jo, Sbarro's, Ajisen Ramen, and Paris Baguette.
I came here to get some dessert last night and I had a crepe in mind.  I should've known better.  I got an "Asian" crepe and not the typical french dessert crepe I had in mind.  See the picture to get a visual.  It was extra crispy and wrapped like a sugar cone.  In fact, it actually taste like a sugar cone spread with nutella, strawberries & mango, and whipped cream.  I even got a few sprinkles on top.  Damn I should've just whipped up my own batter and made it at home.  Oh well, it was only $4 plus an Organic coffee for $1.  It was pretty big, the nice Chinese lady who I thought wasn't experienced at making crepes, filled it to the top with fruits and whipped cream.  I couldn't finish this, and had to pass it to my BF (aka human trash disposal).
The Cafe had a good choice of gelato and frozen yogurt with choices of several fresh fruit toppings and the prices were better than Red Mango & Pink Berry.  Maybe I'll try that next time when I have room for dessert.
