hale and hearty has long been my go-to lunch spot and now they're in yorkville. so many varieties, really great flavor and fairly-priced when you grab the small as i frequently do for lunch of dinner. soup comes with a slice of 7 grain, sourdough or oyster crackers. i'd like to think they're one of the reasons i've been healthier lately. instead of getting pizza on the way home from work, i'll grab a soup now. thanks for coming to the neighborhood!
For a soup-and-sandwich chain, H&H is above-average, and this location is above-average for H&H.
It's small, and there isn't a ton of seating, but the bar stools facing the window add some entertainment value to your meal.
The staffers seem unusually nice and friendly, cheerfully offering samples of whatever soups you want to try. If you're used to the frenetic midtown locations, this calm outpost will be a nice surprise.
Love me some Hale and Hearty. It's about time this soup and sandwich chain found a home up here in Yorkville.
A good place to grab a quick bite for lunch or to pick up a bite on the way home from work. A large selection of soups – their everyday choices and daily specials.
Can always go for the pea soup or three lentil chili. Like the option of purchasing a full or half sandwich. Also has a build your own salad bar if some greens are on the meal agenda. This location is kind of on the smaller side. Not a great amount of tables and chairs here, but there is some window seating for people watching. As with the others a nice touch is that they have pitchers of free ice water with cups, so you don't have to buy a drink. Being it's new it's very clean, and the staff here is super friendly. It almost took me by surprise when I walked in here the other evening after a long day at work.
As it's in a perfect spot on my way home from the subway it looks like it will become an occasional meal option during the week for me.
