  1. South Jersey's in the building!  I was over on Route 22 looking at cars a few weeks ago and almost fell over in my seat when I saw the Primo's banner at this shop.  The only Primo I was aware of previously (which I thought was a standalone business) is located down the shore in Wildwood.  Consistently excellent and HUGE subs which I've devoured many times.  I was thrilled to stumble upon this place, in my new neck of the woods.  I've come to find out that they are also new to the area, but that Primo's is a franchise with over 80 or 90 locations.  Who knew?  This one is the northernmost location in NJ, for all those folks keeping score.

Regional trivia aside, Primo's is legit.  Sure, I tend to prefer mom & pop independent sandwich shops, but these guys bring the goods.  Quality of the meats and produce are high, the bread is fantastic, the sandwiches are made with care and there are three sizes; half, whole and BOMBER.  I think those roughly equate to 6", 12" and 24".  Size does matter, btw.  You should peruse the menu to find your niche, but there are cold, hot, meat and meatless options to sate nearly any palate.  Prices are reasonable.

The icing on the cake at this location (unlike the one in Wildwood) is that the proprietors are so nice and friendly.  I chatted with them a bit about the location and the history of the brand, and they were super appreciative for the business.  They take pride in what they're doing and it shows.  The location is a little challenging, being nestled on an island in the middle of Route 22 in a pretty busy commercial area, but it's worth the effort.  If you're nearby and you've never tried Primo's, I would definitely encourage you to check them out!
