  1. The Bagel Mill is your run of the mill bagel shop in the Upper East Side… Haha!

In the mornings, they are packed with 20-30-something-year-olds before work, young children having their breakfast with their parents before school, and construction workers.

It's not a particularly clean or well-designed bagel shop, nor is it a Manhattan chain.
It's a local joint that survives solely because of its location.

  2. i go here out of desperation because it's the closest bagel shop to my house. shame on me. i can't tell you how many times i've walked out of there and been annoyed about how much i spent. on a recent trip, i ordered turkey in a whole wheat wrap (no cheese) with lettuce, mayo and a small coffee. it was over $9 and didn't even include a side salad. why? i will admit, their veggie tuna is delicious otherwise i'd say walk to 86th street and go to panera.

  3. Love this place for breakfast. They had so many bagel choices and so many creme cheese choices, especially lots of low fat creme cheeses. They take your order quickly, it is always correct, and they also have good coffee. The workers seem very happy to serve us, they have a good amount of tables and chairs for you to sit. The prices are reasonable. All in all this is a solid place to go to for breakfast and in the summer the air conditioner is cranking. That's a plus too.

  4. In my opinion, the best bagel spot in the Upper East Side.
I came here yesterday after having a girls sleep over at my friends house in the area.
They have a great selection and they are always super nice.
My favorite thing to have is an everything bagel with scallon creamcheese and a cup of coffee.
You can also ask for the bagels to get scooped out (no offense to those amoungst the Yelp community that love doing this but I say if I'm be fat, I'M BE FAT ALL THE WAY! No scooped out bagels for me and YES I DO WANT EXTRA CREAMCHEESE)

Word to the wise, they only TAKE CASH here.

Come in and sit and enjoy your food.

  5. Love this place! Delicious chewy bagels, huge variety of cream cheeses, and amazing breakfast sandwiches. A great place to grab bagels for the office or a GIGANTIC sausage/egg/cheese that will keep you full for 6-7 hours. Very friendly guys, but they only take cash!

  6. Grabbed breakfast here this morning while visiting a friend who lives close by. The bagel was great: soft and chewy.  They did get my order wrong (I had indicated I wanted lox on it but something was lost in translation I guess. I went back and they were really nice about re-making it. Actually, the second time it still wasn't quite right, but close enough to eat. Tasted good! I also got a cappuccino and appreciated that it was scalding hot. It was easy for me to drink on the walk back and to actually taste it.

  7. This review is for delivery only.

Delivery was quick for a Saturday morning – only took about 25 minutes.

My boyfriend got the sausage, egg, and pancake platter. It was HUGE and arrived steaming hot.

I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese. The bagel was okay – it tasted more like pumpernickle or bran as opposed to whole wheat. There we barely any "everything" on it.

There was a small piece of plastic in my cream cheese. Mistakes happen, but still… gross.

Also, we ordered two iced coffees with (extra) milk and they came to us black. We had no milk in the fridge so wound up having to run to the store to buy some… defeated the whole purpose of ordering in to begin with 🙁

  8. Just wanted to note that the Bagel Mill has added a salad bar.  Had it for the first time today and was very pleased.  You get to either invent your own salad or choose from one of the concepts listed on their menu.   In either event, they make the salad fresh for you.

I am partial to Spinach, Mushrooms, Jalapenos, and Parmesan cheese with Caesar dressing.

Highly recommend that everyone give this a chance.  I'd like to see this corner of the Bagel Mill survive.   The last endeavor of selling Pizza didn't make it (even though I personally liked their pizza) so hopefully the salad business will be a winner for them.

The UES needs a good salad bar, so this is a welcome addition as far as I'm concerned.
