Small, unassuming place. The brewing equipment is to the left upon walking in, with seating scattered about, and the bar in the back. I tried the Hund, an altbier. I didn't love it, but my friend did. M ordered the Lobster Pot brown ale and he really, really enjoyed it.
All the beer names have a story. A local family owns this place and it shows. Very friendly, very knowledgeable staff. They definitely take pride in what they do. Totally worth checking out!
Great local brewery with some very awesome beers! The owners is a good friend of mine and is always so kind to his patrons. It's a family biz so you can count on the others being just as fun and accommodating.
They have a tasting room where most tasters are only a dollar and if you like the beer, they do growlers and even kegs if you call ahead of time
A new brewery in NJ? You don't say! Recently paid Belford Brewing a visit last weekend for the first time. Definitely a brewery worth checking out. I totally dig the main street location and hope that more breweries start doing this in the state. Belford is pretty low capacity meaning they are not a full scale brewery like some other locals such as Kane and Carton. They have an electric brew house which something that I have not seen in too many breweries. Alright enough of the rambling. On to what everyone comes here for….beer.
I really enjoyed the beers here. They work off of a token system. Most samples are 1 token with a couple sold at 2 tokens. There were about 6 beers on tap and I ended up spending $8 to try them all. I enjoyed most of them with my favorite being the Pro Multis, their Belgian Triple. They also had a pale, brown, and X-Mas beer on tap.
The guys that own the place are super friendly and can answer any questions. Just ask! We shared a table with a couple of guys who went to college with the head brewer and said he started brewing 25 years ago, so you know he's gotta know his way around the kettle…brew kettle that is.
Stop by for a pint, some samples, or growler to go. The space is small so the place can fill up quick!
