Super friendly service so I hate to give a bad review, but both the iced coffee and the cold brew were so incredibly sour, we could barely finish them. Will not be coming back, unfortunately.
If you like good coffee and a hipster vibe this is the place for you. The staff are super friendly and let you take your time looking over the menu. I don't drink coffee but come here for the tea while my bf gets coffee.
We stop by when we are in the area and need a quick pick me up. The store is clean and I have used their bathroom and that's clean as well (dont know if that makes a difference for some but it does for me).
Love the vibe of the whole place. It's like someone's living room with all the books on the shelves and cute coffee bean barrels. Only downside is limited seating. It's great for on the go, but if you see a spot open and want to rest your feet this is a great place to detox from a busy day.
Definitely a fan of their cappuccinos. It's too bad this location is so far out of the way but I would make special trips just to come here. It's hard to find a decent cup of espresso based coffee in Chinatown. They have 2 locations in Chinatown but I find the coffee at this location to be much better. The other location is closer to the heart of Chinatown but their espresso tasted burnt the last time I was there.
Location: I become more familiar with LES. Lol, my pre work out or post work out place. 12 corner is definitely worth to try – their coffee bean is different from all other places in Manhattan and they do play attention how they brew coffee
Coffee: ice coffee is delicious. ( they sold out their cold brew….)
Price: cheap
Service: nice especially with free wifi.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon to study after dim sum.
The place has 8 tables for two (or one if you're working with a laptop) and two bar seats along the window. It did get crowded in the late afternoon and I saw people walking in that just left. However, people are generally nice and just shared tables with others.
The music is a little louder than average, but it might have been because we were sitting right by the speakers along the entrance.
I got an iced latte and it was good. I came here in the winter before and got a matcha latte – it was also good.
*Wifi and outlets
*bathroom has soft toilet paper
I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was still able to find a table/seat!
I got the green tea latte with almond milk. I wish they carried coconut milk or Lactaid here, because I don't really like almond or soy milk much, which were the only lactose-free options they had.
I could taste the matcha in my latte, which is awesome! Only thing is the almond milk didn't really go so well with it. It was my first time mixing those two, so lesson learned. However, given the choice between almond milk and soy milk, I think I'll try the coffee next time instead.
I stayed for about 3 hours to do some studying. Great environment. The music playing was not too loud, but still audible. My drink lasted me the full 3 hours so that's always a plus.
Will be back! I wish they carried some savory options for food though 🙁
It's a nice sitting environment to chat with friends over a cup of coffee or to read/study. A lot of the people there were sitting with their notes, laptop or books with a drink. I came with two friends, wanting to find a good place to sit and possibly study or just chat. The other 12 corners location is really small and we decided to walk the extra distance in the rain to this one. Luckily there were seats. I ordered an Iced Green Tea Latte, one of my friends ordered a hot Green Tea Latte, and another friend ordered a Hot Black Coffee. I really liked my latte, no sugar was added, all matcha taste. However my friends and I were wondering why they served my friends' hot drinks in to-go cups where everyone sitting down had their cafe cups/mugs. There was a big bookshelf behind where we sat. So if anyone wants to order a drink and just read but forgot a book, here's the place.
There's a bathroom, just have to ask for the key if it's not right there on the counter. There's a big mirror inside the bathroom, I scared myself when I turned the lights on and closed the door, thinking someone was standing there (it was just myself). My friends and I ended up sitting there for a good 3-4 hours.
I'll definitely come back when I decide to study and/or want to relax and read a book with some coffee.
My sister and I came here when we visited NY, hoping to find shelter from the rain in addition to some warm drinks. We got good warm drinks, but no shelter sadly because the cafe is super small and people were all studying inside.
I ordered the matcha latte and I liked how strong the matcha flavor was. The drink was far too hot though, it took forever to cool down enough despite the fact that it was really cold outside. Other than that, the drink was quite good.
I can't speak much to the service, since they hardly had any seats inside, much less any empty seats. The cashiers seemed a bit impatient, asking us what we wanted right after we walked in, but nice overall.
