A little expensive and I wish they offered a rewards/punch card because I'm here quite often 🙁
While this location is tiny, they have managed to squeeze a few 2 person tables and the A/C is blowing at full capacity.
They offer specials- for the month of July, 3 lemon iced teas are $1 off. You can add any topping (jelly, boba, cream) for 50cents to your drink order. Smoothies are pricey ($6.50) but their advertised drinks are around $5.50. Can get really packed but the line moves quickly. Expect your drink is 5-10 minutes.
Really really REALLY liked this place!! The first time I had CoCo was in Shanghai (they are everywhere there!!) and this NY location tastes similarly to the Shanghai locations. The tea is not too sweet and it tastes fresh. The boba taste almost honey flavored (?) and are soft and chewy. The egg pudding is smooth and doesn't taste like powder. Drank my entire drink in less than two minutes and wanted more.
I ordered the Okinawa Black Sugar Latte and my friend got the lemon black tea. The drinks are good. The tapioca may not as good as the original CoCos in Taiwan but they are definitely one of the better ones in the area.
Although the drinks are good. I have say the service was not friendly. They take the order with no patience and the staff seem unhappy. Maybe they're overworked. not a single smile to any of the guests even when the guests were friendly and smiling at them. I find it kinda strange.
Anyway, if you don't care for friendly service, this place is decent. I'll probably check a different location next time. I've missed Taiwan, and the familiarity of this shop gives me a little taste of Taiwan. Haha
I'm from the Netherlands. The bubble tea here beats all the bubble tea places in the Netherlands.
One Sunday afternoon, we walked to this bubble tea place on Lexington Ave, which was in the midst of a street food fair. They had run out of mango flavoring which eliminated a decent number of their drinks. I decided to get a honey aloe vera tea; ended up being way too sweet unfortunately. But the bubble gaga was delicious. Amazing flavor and the lychee jelly was a great addition.
Service was extremely slow and unfriendly though the drinks were made correctly.
Small space with minimal seating.
I gave a $20 bill and she forgot how much I handed her and mumbled in Chinese and I responded in Chinese back, catching her off guard.
It's nice being able to adjust the level of sweetness in your drink order.
Upon overhearing a coworker mention "bubble tea," I decided I wanted one. And so I set out to get one.
Due to its proximity to my workplace, I chose CoCo for my point of purchase. In spite of the line, there wasn't a long wait and before I knew it, I was tea in hand.
The tea had just the right amount of sweetness and tapioca, and was refreshing on the hot afternoon. I'm a fan!
Disclaimer: I'm very particular about my pearl milk teas. It's one of the major food groups in my food pyramid.
Found this location by accident. I had CoCo's in Taiwan and Los Angeles before and always liked it. Saw a long line and since that's always a positive sign I followed my way in and ordered at the counter. I ordered a simple jasmine milk tea with aloe.
I sat at a small table while I waited for my drink. There were 10 or so people in front of me also waiting. The choice to sit down was a mistake because once I sat down, the sharp spike stick used to collect receipts at the cashier counter suddenly flew in the air from the register toward me and landed a few inches from my feet. The cashier was very apologetic and relieved that it didn't hit me. I was glad too. That would have been unfortunate.
The drink was disappointing. Milk tea was very watery. It was pretty bad so I tossed it after drinking half of it even though it was a really hot day.
Though it's an international chain, CoCo is one of my favorite spots to get boba mainly because every time I've had it (I've been to several other Coco locations throughout the city), the boba is always soft and chewy unlike other places. Also, CoCo is relatively cheaper than most other places. I love the fact that you can completely customize your order in terms of toppings, sugar level, and ice level. During the winter, I get hot boba but all other times I get iced boba. I've been going to this location for years because it's a few blocks from my office and I've probably had half of their menu and everything has been so good!
