so happy to see my favorite nyc cupcake shop back open for business. of all the places, make sure you hit this up for your sweet tooth! the red velvet is one of my favorites (although now you can purchase their mix for it at target) so i've gone back to my other #1 the apple cobbler cupcake- so yum! not sure who would have room for one of these beauties after dinner, but- it's perfect for dinner on it's own 🙂
Huge cupcakes but way too sweet and a little dry. Still good for a sweet fix! If you go here take your cupcakes to Bryant park!
They have alot of fun flavors and huge size, but their taste isn't the best. It can sometimes be a little dry and lacking in the taste department as compared to other cupcake places in the city.
I'm so happy they are back! Or rather, my boyfriend is so happy they are back!
I love that they are now offering more then just cupcakes, don't get me wrong, the cupcakes are awesome, but sometimes you aren't always in the mood for cupcakes. Sometimes, you just like to mix it up.
On my last trip to crumbs, I was picking up a box of cupcakes for my boyfriend's work anniversary. I picked out the box of twelve and brought it to the counter. The girl at the counter was nice enough to tell me the six pack, which has larger cupcakes, was actually buy one get one half off. Well, my boyfriend will love that… twist my arm counter girl, why don't you. Of course I bought two six packs.
To say my boyfriend was happy is a complete under statement. He was so excited. This is my cupcake place. I do wish they would bring back the girl scout cupcakes, my boyfriend loved those. who am I kidding, so did I.
Came here with a friend to grab some sweets after shopping. This is my first time eating crumbs cupcake. We ordered the Reese cupcake and chocolate chip. The size of these cupcakes were good, not too small and not too big! In terms of the tasting, I thought it was nothing special. But overall we left the place satisfied due to the cravings of sweet!!
Decent cupcakes. Awesome service…i mean they aim to please. I ordered a cupcake a couple weeks early but it was dry. Told them and they comped the next cupcake. Cupcakes generally are a little too fluffy and icing a little to sweet so I stick with miniature cupcakes. When i say fluffy, meaning it tends to fall apart…
I had an indulgent day and needed something Gluten free, worth the calories and absolutely delicious. Walked in and was so excited they had the most amazing selection of GF cakes all in individual serving containers. They don't make the cakes on site they come from a GF kitchen. WOW! The cakes are so good, not overly sweet like many GF products are to overcompensate for being GF. They are light and fluffy and you can't tell they are GF. They will also give you samples if you aren't sure which variety to get. Believe me it was hard to choose as they are all so good, but I did settle on the strawberry shortcake. I don't treat myself to these goodies on a regular basis but when in NYC this is my go to place. The staff is so nice and helpful. There are some tables so you can have your treat and relax. This crumbs is worth the trip.
For our friend's birthday, we wanted to get him a little something to celebrate but was stumped on where to go.
Our local friend suggested Crumbs for their cupcakes. We decided to go for the variety mini pack since it allowed him to pick what he wanted and saved us the hassle of picking a la carte.
When we had the cakes the day of they were moist and tasty. A few days later, the leftovers were still surprisingly moist. It was hard to share the minis so keep that in mind.
Overall Thoughts
For a small local bake shop chain, Crumbs does deliver on making decent baked goods
