  1. Decided to try this place out while at Yankee stadium.

Went with the classic steak sandwich with gravy. It was a little on the smaller side–especially for $16 and unfortunately it did not have a lot of flavor. It was very tender, but even the bun lacked any character.

Overall, you're probably just better off grabbing something cheaper at the ballpark because this failed to impress.

  2. I made a trek all the way from the 4th level of Yankee's Stadium down to ground level just to get my hand on one of these sandwiches, only to make the trek all the way back up and find they recently opened one of the 4th level for the convenience of the guests. alskjalklkj.
pro tip: they have two locations now, not just one. 🙁

OH my.  This sandwich is like heaven with every bite.  They load up the buttery brioche buns with juicy au jus covered slices of prime rib.  The juices and the sauce are quickly absorbed by the soft tender buns which attribute to a flavor so amazing.. you simply can not find this anywhere else.    It is definitely not cheap at $16 per sandwich, but considering the generous amounts of quality cut, melt-in-your-mouth meat you receive, this might actually be considered a steal.  I mean, if a lemonade costs $6.. you are essentially paying the cost for less than three lemonades in exchange for something extraordinary.  I'd make a trip to see the Yankees play just so that I can have another one of these sandwiches!!

  3. Their steak and fries is one of the best deals you can find at Yankee Stadium. The The box of fries are topped with layers and layers of steak strips that are cooked to perfection. And at $15.00, you won't even get this value eating at a restaurant, let alone a sports stadium. Each strip had a medium rare center and was tender. It might look like a lot but it was finished in just 2 innings.

  4. With the plethora of unhealthy eats and temptations of flowing beer, this is possibly the best and probably fulfilling sandwich in the park. The meat is finger pull tender that sits inside a pillow of a roll then dipped in its own natural juice. Great sandwich all around and especially at the stadium. The only complaint I had was mine was on the well side, wish it was more rare. Make sure to get the horseradish sauce on the side just to give it a little extra kick. Might be above average price but worth it!

  5. Maybe it was the day and maybe not, but my experience here wasn't as I expected. I was really looking forward to trying out Lobel's and super excited too after reading all the great reviews on here, but sadly the excitement turned into disappointment. I hate giving bad reviews to restaurants, because I realize the hard work that's being put behind everything to please consumers like us, but I just was not impressed with this place. Like I said, maybe it was just that day! I felt that the sandwich was overpriced for the quality I received. The meat was served to me cold and covered in a ton of gravy too. Due to my experience, I probably won't be returning back.

  6. It's all about the steak sandwiches.  Or perhaps more accurate to say, they ONLY serve steak sandwiches.

But really, why is there even bread?  Each bun is simply a tepid accessory that can afford to be tossed aside, as Lobel's serves up some hugely tender and savoury cuts of USDA steak lathered in gravy that just ramps the juiciness factor to another level.

It really was a great steak (I will refrain from calling it a sandwich because I never did find a need to eat the bread), and I'm glad I tried it, but the way the lines can get, I don't think I would line up for it again and I'm happy that I managed to get a taste on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
