A little deli/supermarket on the corner of 62nd & 1st Av, this place had a staffer up front who, while cute, was bored, and a Hispanic worker who was short on words, but friendly at the deli counter.
The bread on sandwiches in the cooler was a bit dry, but the bagels were cheaper than anywhere else up the street (farther from the hospital?).
I noticed that they didn't have consistency in their pricing. Some of the green tea I picked up had more expensive prices on them than others. Don' t know why, but I picked up the cheaper one. Tasted just the same.
Will have to try some of their hot food another time… hot sandwiches.
It's a well-lit convenient space if you're looking to pick something up quickly. My friend needed a Diet Coke and came here because it was around $1. Checkout was quick. Their flowers are pretty good, but at a slightly higher price.
Love to support my local businesses and feel bad for the sky high prices for rent. But, if you offer something to your patrons on the menu, make sure to keep it stocked! Kept getting excuses about not having this or that, not just for one item but for multiple items. Maybe narrowing the menu a bit could help! Ultimately got a buffalo chicken sandwich which was on a hard baguette.
I usually don't go to tiny markets unless I'm desperate for something generic. I came here in dire need for Vitamin water that cost $2. I noticed there were a lot of snacks and even soup near the window! I didn't explore around but it seemed pretty neat from a quick glance. As for customer service, there really isn't much to it..I'm just buying vitamin water. The cashier didn't try to start a conversation and ask me how I was, etc. There is a minimum to use a credit card.
