  1. Not worth the prices. $4.50 for a cold brew and it wasn't even that great. The pastries all looked super good but also overpriced – one mini muffin, for example, was $2.50. I'd rather walk half a mile and spend that money at Intelligentsia.

  2. This shop is pretty cool, this gal at the corner seems unable to smile. The girl with the shaved and tattoo'd head is fun to interact with as was the dude in a dark grey cap.

Prices are reasonable and the wifi is decent.

Gal in the white cap in my photo was technically wworking but wasn't engaging or happy to be there. #wetblanket.

  3. Yay happy Friday the 13th and I'm really in a mood for coffee exploration. Walked a few blocks down before work and decided to give a shot on 7 grams. Great choice!

I came in right after they opened, so not all of the pastries were out for display yet; however the scent of coffee beans started to spread. Their flat white is slight different from elsewhere, which tended to be a bit more complex, unique flavor!

If you've got some time to kill, definitely sit down and enjoy a sip with their cup and plate – the cutest I have ever seen!

A good cup of coffee made my whole day.

  4. I was looking for 2 things when I stumbled upon this place: a refuge from the sun and a good study place. I got both in this cute cafe! I luckily grabbed a table by the wall versus the window and quickly ordered a hot coffee (its never too hot for hot coffee). I am trying to drink my coffee black, so I did not put any sugar/creamer in it. The coffee was pretty good, not too strong and smelled great. I also liked their choice of dishes. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I also got a chocolate chip cookie that the waitress warmed up for me upon my request. It was a decent size cookie and very good. Chewy, melted chocolate with a slight cinnamon taste… would get it again. For the coffee and the cookie, my total was $7, which I guess is about average.

Overall, very cute cafe that is quiet enough to do work without headphones. It is in a great area of the city, but that also means it is a little small. The wifi was solid. Seating is a long wooden bench and stools. I would think sitting on a backless stool would be uncomfortable after a long study session, so not sure why they chose this style of seating. But I did appreciate the sufficient lighting, because a lot of cafes have poor lighting making it hard to do work. There is limited seating so be prepared to come in and be disappointed if you come at a busy time.

  5. this coffee shop is surprisingly empty given its proximity to the terrible 30s. i was able to plug away at work for a few hours (they have 5G wifi), powered by their decent cold brew and easily accessible water on tap. they supposedly have "healthy baked goods" (they had an extra olive oil and chunky banana bread on display) which all looked delicious and also pretty typical of pastry fare, and i didn't try any. outlets are hidden but in decent supply- check underneath the benches!

  6. Why is the cold brew the most expensive I've ever seen? I mean, it was good but not that good. Also, the pastries were offensively overpriced.

Cute atmosphere inside and probably a good place to work. You might as well stay a while and "steal" some air given how much you paid for your coffee.

  7. An ideal coffee shop to chill and relax or get some quiet time. Healthy baked goods to go with your cup of coffee as well! I loved how warm and cozy this spot is and the coffee bean smell is so comforting.

Lavender Vanilla Latte. I came here specially for this and it's no surprise! It has a nice lavender aroma and a lightly sweet vanilla taste to it. It was not overly sweet at all which I really liked!

Cold Brew. Bitterness plus refreshing, I like!

Carrot Loaf Bread. It is tasty and it is gluten-free (for those who care)!

  8. After reading all the good reviews, wanted to check out this boutique type coffee place.  So I had the opportunity today after shopping at WholeFoods…

The space is small, it felt cramped… Even though it wasn't crowded at 8am… I can't imagine what it would feel like when there is a line… People's behind would be hitting other patrons' head, as they line the wall of tables.

I also didn't feel "welcome"… The barista had the look of "I'm not in the mood for this sh*t"… No smile, like he didn't want to be there… Maybe he's not an AM person?  Way too serious for this job bro!  The cashier was nicer, she at least smiled to her patrons.

I got my usual drink of choice "Americano"…  I asked to leave room for my milk… That didn't happened… I hate wasting coffee.   So, my biggest disappointment was the actual "coffee" itself.  It tasted like nothing, way too much water was added and even with extra half & half couldn't revive it…  What a total let down.

There are plenty of good coffee places around here… On to the next one! Or just back to Bean & Bean.
