I was disappointed with my visit here. I was in the area and in the mood for some boba. Visually, the design of the shop is very sleek and aesthetically pleasing however everything else was seriously lacking.
We ordered taro, jasmine and caramel milk bubble tea. Service was quick so no complaints there. I'll start off with the taste, I wasn't impressed with any of the flavors. The taro was gritty, the jasmine tasted as if it was steeped too long. No complaints on the caramel though. However, the guy preparing our drinks only put an adequate amount of ice in one of the drinks, the taro had some ice and the jasmine had none! Warm bubble tea is not good! My sister went back inside to address the issue. When she told them that they forgot to put ice in, the man just stared at her. No apologies or suggestions on how to fix it. She then proceeded to ask if he could add ice, he then said that he won't be able to re-seal it, so she said that he could simply cut it open and add ice. It was at this point that he SHOULD have offered to re-make it and he should have apologized for the inconvenience. But he didn't.
Also the tapioca pearls tasted odd, as if they were old? I've made my own tapioca pearls at home many times (meaning with tapioca flour and hand molding them) so we know what fresh tapioca pearls should taste like – I was not impressed, and we will not be going back.
THE BEST MILK TEA I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!
i love milk tea and i get it everywhere and anywhere: chinese bakeries, bubble tea places, etc. but this was the best ever
i think it's something in the boba/bubbles. they have a slight chocolate flavor
i got the regular milk tea with regular sweetness and it was great
No trip to Flushing is complete without a classic milk tea with boba and grass jelly. Coco does it best! Not too sweet, never a long wait, order & pay at one window and pick up at the other. I like the boba here they are slightly smaller and perfect texture. Always so tasty and soothing to my dumpling-filled belly. Love you, Coco!
I like this spot! The service is speedy and the bubble tea selection is vast. I normally order the hot or cold Jasmine Milk Tea with bubbles. I like this option because when you drink it slowly, the tea taste comes out well.
At times I wish CoCos had Wi-Fi, because I spend an ample amount of time with my bubble tea reading a book or the news, and I like to do that on my phone sometimes and wish I wouldn't have to burn through my phone data plan. Maybe the no Wi-Fi policy is a positive thing, though, because it'll encourage customers like me not to stare into screens the whole time we're in that space!
Also: I've noticed jugs of Lactaid whole milk recently in their refrigerator, which is awesome because I'm lactose intolerant and take a dairy pill whenever I enjoy bubble tea from here. Now, I may not have to since they have Lactaid milk as an option! Expanding to having soy / almond / coconut milk might be a good idea too, as a way to be considerate of people's dietary needs. Those three milk options would be great for people who are vegan who want to enjoy bubble tea from here.
Coco is just another bubble tea place. I personally like kungfu better but this is probably the best you can get in the Bayside area for now. The milk teas range from 3 to 4 dollars. All toppings are 50 cents each (tapioca, grass jelly, coconut jelly, pudding). Getting a large size normally requires you to pay 1 dollar extra. I wouldn't recommend any of the latte's, they literally just taste like milk tea you can make at home…
Bubble tea is made swiftly and well! I personally love their matcha red bean drink. Plenty of seats. It's great because even when it's busy, it doesn't get as chaotic as the Flushing branch does.
I went recently twice, and the Christmas decorations are very…interesting. If the cafe reads this review, the snow graffiti on your front window is written from the inside in a way that cannot be read from the outside but from the inside. It's a little peculiar and funny, so if you'd like to fix it….
My favorite Coco spot! Very clean and the workers are always nice. I appreciate the fact that they are willing to customize the drinks for me- I usually get the grapefruit green tea and ask for more grapefruit juice than green tea or I just ask for grapefruit juice without the green tea and they always say yes. The other locations either refuse my order or give me a difficult time. The jasmine milk tea is the BOMB DOT COM!!! And their sago is the best sago I've ever tasted.
Great spot and amazing prices! On Saturdays they open at 11 a.m. and it takes them about 20 minutes to get the boba ready. Therefore, if you are looking for boba make sure you come in a bit after they open up the place. I went in right at 11 a.m. so I couldn't get the boba. However, it was still perfectly made and so yummy!
I was in the area getting my nails done and realized that this place (which I had bookmarked) was right next to the nail salon. So I decided to go and I have to say that this will be my new boba tea place!
I bought a large "Caramel Milk Tea" for $4.75! Super affordable compared to the prices in Long Island. Anyways, cannot wait to go back and try this place again. If you are around the area make sure you stop by and try out this gem.
