I'm surprised by how low this DR is rated. Okay, not the best one I've ever been in but seriously, for a corner store, they do pretty well. I haven't had much trouble with rude or unhelpful employees. In fact, I find the opposite is true. For the most part, I find them to be friendly and chatty right back. It could do with a face lift, sure, but it's not terrible for what it is…a pseudo corner store/pharmacy. They have decently stocked shelves and just a little bit of everything you might need. I do wish they had a better selection of refrigerated/fresh food items. There aren't any fresh fruits available, only a very limited selection of dairy/meat, and lord help you if you want bread. The loaves run out quicker than anything else everrrrr -__- Oh well, in a pinch, something is better than nothing and I'll take it, y'all.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by the Duane Reade in Port Authority. Maybe I'm a huge Duane Reade snob. But man, most of this staff could not frown harder if they tried.
Which is too bad, because it's not s bad place. It's reasonably clean, pretty big, and even kind of organized. But with the exception of a few positively saintly staffers, everyone gives the strong impression of hating their work and their customers.
This is the lowest Duane Reade on the totem pole. They never answer phones either. Seriously in need of a revamp. Funny enough, the manager is actually very helpful and attentive (3 stars for her) . If she even sees you having trouble deciding she will try to give assistance. The review is for the rest of the staff ( unknowledgeable and rude) Also, more often than not, they are out of stock on popular items. Where's the inventory management? Plus they lock up the Dove …whattt?
Solid Duane Reade! It always has what I need and the staff is helpful. The pharmacists are friendly and efficient. The store is bright, clean, and the checkout line is never too long. The aisles are wide and everything is pretty organized and well kept. Sure, it could use an upgrade and look a bit more modern and happy, but as long as they have what I need, it's alright. I only ever go there on weeknights after work and on my way home, so I don't know how it is during the day or on weekends.
Such low ratings…wow. I have not experienced rude think the staff is rude but they are not a warm and fuzzy bunch. I mainly come to this location for the ATM and the occasional cashier's check. I've shopped here once or twice and the place always seems clean and well organized. I never see anyone walking the floor so good luck getting help. I had to come to the pharmacy a while back and the male pharmacists was actually nice to me. DR is a giant convenience store so be prepared to pay higher prices.

Which I totally get, but at least fake it!
