  1. Ahhhhh… The things I've seen at this 7-Eleven over the course of a few months. Memories! They can't be spoken of, but exist somewhere on the store cameras.

Firstly, the convenient store's name is a bit misleading. They lie about what time they are open. Don't be fooled and wait to catch them after 7, nor rush to catch them before eleven. They actually stay open 24hrs, and never close.

Howwww…. Everrr…. To increase the probability that you will have the chance to observe some once in a lifetime random occurrence, you definitely should check them out during their unofficial hours not included by the store name. Now I can't guaranteed you will have the privilege to be entertained, I'm just saying your chances increase greatly.

Other than the entertainment factor, this convenience store is conveniently near by to provide all emergency things I need. Yes emergency things include sunflower seeds, energy drinks, coffee, gummy worms (preferred over bears), chocolate bars, and hot sausages. You know, typical things to accompany one for a long planned study session. Plus, the entertainment factor, if you timing is right, can wake you to a more alert state. …good for studying. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they also have a lot of healthy stuff that I successfully manage to look right pass on every visit. On the other hand, if the aforementioned study items piqued your interest, there is more. 7-Eleven has snack cakes, pizza, chicken wings, hotdogs, cookies, popcorn, alcohol, chips, etc. By now one of the mentioned items should have sparked a craving. Don't worry though, 7-Eleven is open and has you covered.

  2. Okay, what is the one thing 7-Eleven is known for especially on a hot day???  Give up?  Did you think "Slurpee?"  I did.

I walked in here while walking to the post office after picking up a custom blouse.  I was hot, sweaty & my throat was dry.  It would have been a great time for a slurpee.

But, nope no slurpee relief here!!!  They were working on the slurpee machine when I walked in.  This location is also very tiny and out of place for the Bowery.  Seriously, on a hot day make sure the slurpee machine is working.  If it had been, I probably would have browsed longer but I didn't really see any interesting candy or fun things to look at.  If you want a good 7-Eleven experience, just go to the one near Port Authority.

  3. 7s or Elevens win on the first roll in CRAPS…and this 7-Eleven wins on first, second, third, repeated etc. strolls in. this location is worth the gamble!

this 7-11 like most are 24 hours. it's located on the Bowery, so it's convenient if you're downtown east side.

PRO TIP: Download the 7 Eleven  app. every 7 coffee purchases, you get one free! plus there are always other freebies to be had upon purchase or just promotional Slurpees etc.

for fairly freshly brewed coffee (regular, decaf, Hazelnut, etc.),  this locations has all the sugar and other sweeteners, milk, creamer, flavorings, whip cream, etc. to challenge your favorite up-priced coffee places offerings. the rub is that you have to put it together yourself! but you save like $3 in the process versus those chains from Seattle and elsewhere. aaand they have a iced coffee machine in the back that spits out iced coffee with cream or black. now can get your "chill" all year round with caffeine!

pre-gaming/boozing? fairly decent selection of beers and such. plus they have all the red bull, monster, and other energy drinks to revvv your engine.

PRO-TIP: midday snacking is probably the best option if you want the freshest hot-stopping food. in terms of late night, i'd stick with the "roller" (taquitos and franks) food. the pizza, wings, Doritos Loaded, tacos, etc. are all hard passes….unless you like food that is pre-shrivelled.

hangryyyy? beyond the prepackaged snack foods (all the bags of CHEETOS you can want if you can afford them), sandwiches (7-Eleven brand hot and cold sandwiches that you can microwave in-store or at home), doughnuts, candy, cheese, protein bars, etc.–there's always the variety of hot foods that 7-11 has on heated rollers or heated storage cases: so your hot dogs, sausage, taquitos, wings, mozzarella sticks, pizza, nachos, etc. i wouldn't say any of these foods are good for you, but they are mostly snacky, on-the-go, or 3 am drunk/hangry mode eats. this 7-Eleven seems to refresh these foods in the various trays, roller, or heated stations fairly often…because you never see that lone shrivelled weiner that has been turning and heating for 12 hours. there's also a small heated box that has various breakfast sandwiches (bacon egg cheese croissants, biscuits with sausage, etc.) heated throughout the day. on top of the heated is the all you can heap on condiments area which comprises of mustard, ketchup, relish, onions, tomatoes, etc. as well as that golden heated soft-serve heated cheese for those who live in the nacho lane and wish your heartbeat to slow upon ingestion!

also this 7-Eleven has random things like phone cards (if you lose your phone or are ISIS? WUT!), random household goods, chargers, etc. the variety of these items really are for that 4 am when you're like "OH SNAP, nothing's open and I need a USB charger.)

the shining gem of this 7-Eleven is the KEYME kiosk. you can digitally scan a copy of most house keys (except those uncopyable ones) at this kiosk. if you lose your keys or need to cut a spare pair for someone…you just use your fingerprint that you stored when you scanned your key set…and the kiosk will use that to cut a new set of keys for you on the spot. no more calling locksmiths! your digital keys are accessible from KEYME's cloud, so if the kiosk is not working…most legit locksmiths can use the KEYME digital copy to cut you a set of keys…no more $300 lockout fees. basically all you do is tie your fingerprint, email, digital copies of keys, and a credit card together at a KEYME kiosk…the rest is simple!

the store is well-lit, clean, etc. the clientele is a mix of everyday folks, the drunken brigade, people from the various missions on Bowery, and passerbyes, so late night definitely has some oddball things going on between the tipsy and the semi-homeless.

the staff. not great English, but good enough. they are super friendly. the staff are constantly doing the right thing by hooking up those semi-homeless or "crazies" with free coffee, eats, and such–and NOT calling the cops on the homeless who hover around the store. I believe these guys are about the neighborhood and serving it, not changing it!

so caffeine, nicotine, the munchies, booze, or any other vices…this 7-Eleven will handle it with a friendly  smile and an accent!
