  1. Finding good Chinese food on the UWS has been challenging. Ollie's is consistent what-you-would-expect. Prices are OK. I really like their vegetable fried rice — not too soy saucy and lots of different veggies. The spare ribs are very good.

Try their lunch specials, it's a pretty good deal.

  2. Stopped by and had some Kung Pao chicken…still as greasy as ever!

  3. They just lost a star. I ordered the "grand marnier" shrimp. Not what it sounds like. It is breaded shrimp drowning in mayonnaise with chunks of canned pinapple and broccoli. Yuck.

  4. I hadn't spent time on the UWS since early 2011.  I was happy to have another choice of Chinese food in the neighborhood.  I ordered Sesame Chicken and it was tasty without being greasy.  It's large enough to eat in if you don't mind a smaller sized space.  The staff was friendly and the service was quick.  I'd try it again the next time I'm in the area.

  5. Quick, hot, and delicious!  I think if i lived on the Upper West Side, I might spend all my money here getting food to-go.  It's a relaxing place to have a quick dinner alone or w/ others.

  6. I tried the pork noodle soup with wontons.

The roasted pork was overall good.  It was not quite on par with the best in Chinatown, but definitely the best option I can think of on the UWS. The soup broth was a little tasteless, but at least it wasn't exceedingly salty.  The wontons were surprisingly excellent.  They also piled in some green and bean sprouts which were a nice addition.

I wouldn't make this place an eating destination, but if you are in/live/work in the area and want a quick and easy meal, this is an excellent option.

The price is reasonable and the portions are enormous.

  7. It's not that great, but it's one of the better Chinese places on the Upper West Side (which isn't saying much, I know). And it's on Seamless, which is convenient since I hate placing delivery orders by phone.

Decent food, quick delivery. We usually order the standard fare on a rotating basis: pork lo mein, fried rice (the young chow fried rice is probably the best choice), sesame chicken, beef and broccoli/string beans/other veggie, and bok choy with black mushrooms. It's a bit pricier than most other Chinese take out places, but it's also a bit better. Believe me, Chinese fast food on the UWS is absolutely atrocious.

I always feel like I taste like Chinese food grease for the rest of the day, but there isn't much else to choose from. I really need to learn to cook and not be lazy to utilize my tiny kitchen.

Oh, I ate there once and… yeah, take out is the better option.

  8. Can't really complain too much about this place.  They're quick to deliver, the order is always right and the delivery men are always friendly.  The food is nothing amazing — typical Chinese delivery.
