ahh, I recall the days of Silver Rod…
Walgreen's is fairly standard drug store. it's the closest one in walking distance, which is why I usually end up going here.
the prices, selection, and organization tend to be a bit better than those at the nearby Rite Aid. though, I must say, Rite Aid offers better selection for beer (the universal medication).
I can't think of any bad experiences here, aside from the one time that some lady who worked here told me not to test-spray a can of Axe deodorant. hey, I wanted to know what it smelled like before I bought it, don't get flip with me.
Why are people rating this place poorly? At least Walgreen has a selection to choose from and the place looks clean and organized…compared to neighboring Rite Aid this place is MUCH better. I love that I can upload my pictures on the website and get the printed at the store – very convenient! I have also gotten my prescriptions filled here and have had no complaints.
This store is dirty, crowded and just run down. I haven't been here in a very long time and now that the other Walgreens opened up in the area I've been going to that one its a beautiful new store.
I think it's really weird that the majority of reviews about Walgreens are mostly about something called Silver Rod. Much like the recently un-ghetto-ed Food Town, I'm going to have to take your word for the nostalgia value of Silver Rod, but I'd like to review Walgreens.
Pros: -newish so still kindof clean -well-lit -affordable prices
Cons: -a little trashy in the discount bargain shelf of crap right by the door, with things lying everywhere, you have to climb over people to get to another aisle -always a long line with one person for four registers -never anyone in the aisles to help when you need something -when you can find someone, they are often pretty clueless
I still try and hit up a decent pharmacy near work in another borough and will continue to do so until one of the local pharms impresses me.

2.75 stars, really.
