  1. Tea Plus Cafe. I hate to say it, but you're stuck with me.  FOREVER!

Did NOT expect them to have so much room in there. They've got ample indoor and outdoor seating.  The decor is marvelous. A lot of wood, plants, and colors. It gives a country-homey feel. It's freakin' Spring season all year long in there.

We came here solely for their Crêpe Cake ($7.95) since we loved it so much at Chikalicious.  They had matcha and coconut flavored and went with the coconut.  It's light and easy to cut into. The coconut flavor hits you hard but definitely not overwhelming. Although Chikalicious' version rocks my taste buds harder, Tea Plus still nailed it.

We also ordered the Yuzu Cheesecake ($4.95) because yuzu is absolutely delicious and I felt the same way about this cheesecake. Yuzu was definitely not subtle (it never is) and the cheese balances it out really well.

With all these sweet components, we needed something to freshen things up. The Rubo Poma (Fair $3.50) really got that job done.

Service is great and the employees were very friendly.

Super Kudos for displaying Wi-Fi passwords on each table and for providing comfy seats! I was still sore from leg-day, so sitting on cushioned seats made for a more satisfying experience.

There's no doubt that I'll be back!

  2. Surprisingly amazing! From the outside, it's easy to miss. With your first step in, it looks pretty small. By the time you get to the crepe cakes, you get sucked in by the tea display, wood separators and roomy back area.

They have a great coconut crepe cake and yuzu cheesecake. I love that the flavors aren't muted. The crepe cake had thin layers and a smooth coconut cream in between the layers. The yuzu cheesecake was tart, but it was balanced out with the cream cheese.

I'm not a tea person, so I appreciate that they have descriptions of all the teas on the wall and on the menu. It was refreshing and balanced out the creamy desserts in front of us.

Now that the food's our of the way – the space is clean and bright. Their back area feels like the lobby of a hotel, with their comfy chairs and wifi passwords on each table. They also have outdoor seating for the warmer days!

  3. Was hanging out in Astoria a couple of weekends ago and was in need of a midday cup of joe and something sweet, so we stopped by Tea Plus Cafe. The cafe is an absolutely adorable, narrow and long passageway to outdoor seating that sits right below a residential building with cute balconies.  Outdoor furniture selections were spot-on, exactly what I would've chosen for my own cafe (maybe on day…).  The interior was really spacious and cute as well and service was friendly.

I ordered a green tea latte and shared a black forest cake.  I thought the green tea latte was okay, however it left a strange after taste in my mouth that resembled artificial sweeteners, but I could be wrong.  The matcha flavor was there, it was just the after taste that was a bit bothersome.  The cake was rather good and had a nice cherry accent to it that was very appetizing.  There's free wi-fi, as most cafes / coffee shops do nowadays, so stop by for some java or tea with a nice piece of pastry and relax with a book or your laptop 🙂

  4. I can't even lie, this place is cute. At one point I found myself admiring the interior of the bathroom. That's when I realized I needed Tea Plus in my life, even though it's not convenient for me to get to.

My trip here was a stroke of luck. After visiting the Museum of the Moving Image, I felt like having a drink somewhere, so I yelped around for coffee. I didn't even know Tea Plus was (relatively) close by; I just randomly bookmarked it a while ago after seeing it on my yelp front page. In any case, it was destined for me to make the walk up to Tea Plus, and I'm so thankful I did.

People here have written enough about the Azuki Matchapresso, so I don't need to go into great detail about it, but I very much enjoyed it even though I was skeptical at first. It's extremely visually appealing, and it tastes as good as it looks. My photo isn't a good example, but the drink + interior of Tea Plus makes for a great shot if you're into that.

I didn't try any pastries but they certainly looked good. Service was friendly, and did I mention the interior? Unf. I can definitely see myself spending entire afternoons here. Tea Plus is a little out of the way for me, but like anything else I really like, I'll make time for it in the future.

  5. Came here after reading such great reviews. Has a great vibe with a nice seating area to read or do some work. Has a stunning outdoor patio if you want to get some sun.. They have a huge selection of teas.. They have a really cool tea brewing machine that allows you to see it brew through the glass. They also offer cold brew which I love.. They have a decent amount of pastries and they look very fresh.. Great addition to the neighborhood

  6. This place is such a great addition to the neighborhood.. The interior is stunning! The seating area in the back is really nice too.. The staff is welcoming and attentive. They have lots of loose tea options and an extensive menu.. I ordered the azuki matchapresso because it looked really interesting and it was. The red bean went so well with the combination of matcha and espresso.. It was a little too sweet for me but next time I will let them know to go lighter on the sugar.. Excellent place to do some work and they offer complimentary wifi

  7. Drinks and treats: 3/5 — Cocount crepe cake was decent but a bit stale, Jasmine passion tea (passion fruit, plum, honey and chia seeds) was okayish, and Lavender Creme was a bit too light for my taste.

    Decor: 4/5

    Service: 4/5

Summary: great concept, cute decor, and has a tea reward system (purchase 9 drinks and get 1 custom cup free).

  8. I'm pretty much happy to find out that this place is only 5 mins from where my fam stays. I came here for the first time and tried their special drink and YES it was so good! I also ordered a slice of crepe-layer-cake and A moosse cake, they were both good. The place itself looks amazingly peace and calm which makes me so happy about. 5/5 to you guys!
