  1. I began going to Urban Vintage when they first opened as I worked in the neighborhood at the time.  With a funky look and tasty hot drinks and pastries, they were an instant hit for me. And the owners… just as sweet and friendly as can be.  Years later, the spot is even more popular, brimming with locals and others, and just as comfortable.  The food menu is as good as ever, though I find the brunch a bit pricey for what you get. Nonetheless, whenever I am nearby they are a priority to stop at well over other venues.  Check 'em out!

  2. This place did not "wow" me at all. The service was a bit absentminded. It seemed as if the ladies at the shop could not give many recommendations or did not know mic about the menu.  The place was not that busy and I ordered the Brie/ turkey sandwich which was underwhelming. I just did not find it tasty at all. I took one bite and thought I should get something some wheeee else. It just was a bunch of not so great thick turkey and cheese. Then you could never really tell if they were bringing the food to you or you had to get it yourself. The place needs a better system.  They could give place cards for the table to get a little more organized. I also tried a cake and it was ok. All in all this place has promise. It seems as if service is lacking and food is so so. However, my friend said the coffee was good. Also, the place is decorated nice. It reminds me of a country cottage in the city.

  3. Hello heaven, I love you.

Atmosphere: large, French-inspired, cozy, warm, eclectic. The bathroom is clean, and the wifi is reliable. The walls are decorated with old photos, chairs, and knick-knacks. You can also buy vintage-looking jewelry and wars that are strewn about the shop.

Staff: exceptionally accommodating, cheerful, and helpful. My latte was made with the wrong milk, and the barista remade it with a smile. The cashier took the time to explain all of the cookies and let me know her favs.

The goods: try a decaf pumpkin-spiced tea latte- it's comforting, not at all sweet, and mildly spicy and warming. There are almond and soy milk options, vegans and gluten-free desserts, salads, sandwiches, pastries, and breakfast items. The pistachio cookie was moist and chewy, reminding me of a pignoli cookie. The sea salt and caramel chocolate chip cookie was thinner and crisp.

This is definitely a spot to make your local coffeehouse

  4. I really like this place for studying because it's cozy and inviting, there is ample seating and outlets, and you have access to yummy food and beverages.  My only complaint is the internet seemed a little shaky at times and if you don't like Ben Folds (I personally do) you would be annoyed because the album was on repeat.  Also the green velvety chairs have way too lumpy seat bottoms.

Awesome food, desserts, and coffee.  They have all the pastries you could ask for – I personally tried the mini red velvet cheesecake and my friend tried one of the macaroons.  I also got the brie panini with turkey and preserves and small side salad, while my friend got the chicken salad with cranberries and goat cheese.  All of it was pretty delicious, not mind-blowing but good study food that came out relatively quick.

They also have a nutella latte, a rose latte, and a panini with chocolate – all of which sounded intriguing.

I will be back for more study sessions.  This reminds me of Outpost Cafe, but it's a lot easier to get there from the subway.

  5. I think this cafe wins for the most on point name. The only way to actually describe this spot is… Urban Vintage.

I lived around the corner from UV for two years (before and after it opened) and it has definitely been an excellent addition to that neighborhood.

I actually prefer the ambiance/decor more than the coffee and food (tasty, not bad, but not memorable). For a cafe, where you can sit and study/write for hours with wifi and a coffee – ambiance/decor go a long way.

This is a great, cozy spot to catch-up with a close friend and chat for hours. Especially on a rainy day.

Tip: The espresso drinks are better than the drip coffee. Order accordingly.

  6. I absolutely love this family owned and run establishment. Whenever I'm home, visiting Brooklyn, I make it a point to stop by this wonderful café to enjoy the delicious food and lovely ambience. The Nutella latte is not to be missed.

  7. It's been a minute since I've been here, but recently started going back.  I forget how much I love their coffee and croissants.  It's like sensory overload when you go in because there is so much to gawk at.  The cupcakes are always a favorite of my daughters.  This time we came after our morning yoga workout and I splurged and had the waffle and cappuccino.  Yessss…

  8. Wonderful!! Great chai latte and my friends really liked their lattes as well. Food looked delish but will go back to try later. Super comfy atmosphere and quirky furniture…
