Blue Bottle Coffee

“This location is almost even better (for the time being, anyway) because it's sort of hidden in Rock Center and mostly empty every time I go.”

“I like the New Orleans cold brew and it is a delicious cup of coffee, perfect for the summer.”

  1. It's such a treat to visit Blue Bottle and order their soy cappuccino.

The flavor of their espresso is insanely rich and bold, but it finishes without the bitter bite you'd expect. Their milk steamer makes a very dense foam, creating a nice thick film over your cappuccino. To top it all off, they pay attention to presentation and always finish the drink with a beautiful floral design. Always delicious, and a star cappuccino amongst the otherwise mediocre coffee options in the Rockefeller food mall.

  2. This location is not my favorite. But can I really complain when there is a Blue Bottle in my work vicinity? Definitely not. Blue Bottle entrance is tricky. I like to walk in the building between Free People and Bouchon in the Rockefeller Center area. I walk in and make a right, head down the escalator and have a view inside we coffee spot. People have discovered this place and the line in horrendous and especially after lunch. Everyone needs an after lunch espresso. I come here and want everything from merch to cookies to caffeine. I at least get myself a little cortado. The counter is made of marble and as I mentioned in other reviews, I'm really into marble right now.

The coffee here is perfection. It's perfectly creamy and strong. It makes me happy to stop my hectic NY life and enjoy a cup of coffee.

  3. This is quite a funky spot, but I can understand that it is a grab-n-go on your way to work kind of place. Hence the lack of seating. I definitely wouldn't make all the effort to find this relatively hidden coffee shop even if I am in the area, but if I'm in the building, I would choose this over Starbucks.

I've been here twice, and I've enjoyed the coffee both times. I've heard the New Orleans is something worth trying – but given the icy cold weather as of late, that will have to wait.

Very pricey for the amount of coffee you get – $4 something for a latte that is an equivalent to a tall at Starbucks is a bit astounding!

  4. Best latte in the area!

They drip their coffee through mugs by pouring hot water manually into the filter, the old traditional way, the interior is clean and modern, it's super cozy, you could miss the shop in the concourse level but it's next to Sea Grill by the restrooms.

  5. Blue bottle is def a tourist spot for those checking out Rockefeller. When you're following your map for directions and it says you've arrived, but your standing at the ice rink, don't be confused! You can go downstairs or take the elevator (you enter through the glass doors that are adjacent from the ice rink where people just stop and watch skaters) to the bottom floor.

Yes, blue bottle is underground near the ice rink.

The line can get a bit long as they brew the coffee made to order. It's strong and it's great. Their hot chocolate isn't the milky sweet kind, so if that's what you like, don't get it lol. Boo.

My fav, olive oil shortbread. Need I say more? Shortbread that is moist and quite caloric. Teehee. Good way to start the morning when it's freezing cold outside.

  6. I went out of my way to come here – but only because I love BB so much! The coffee is obviously great no matter where you have it – east coast or west coast – so I'll write about the service and location.

They're located in the Rockefeller center a level down. I came at 3pm on a Monday afternoon and nearly all the bags of coffee were sold out.

The service was great. Friendly staff even though I held up the line (hey, i wanted the haynes valley espresso roast, so I had to ask! … but the barista was friendly enough to recommend something in stock that was close to it, score)!

If you purchase a keep cup you get a free drink! The keep cup is my favorite 🙂

Enjoy fellow Blue Bottle lovers! This coffee is as good as it gets!

  7. It's a bit pricey but you can immediately tell the quality is on a whole other level than any other coffee shop. Their basic coffees aren't full of unnecessary extras like pumpkin spice, and yet they still taste better than any coffee I've had. I'm not a big coffee drinker but when I need it this is my absolute favorite place.

  8. Love love love their New Orleans cold brew! This was my very first time having blue bottle coffee. I can't believe what I've been missing all these years! This location is perfectly placed in the Rockefeller center so it's a great place to get a coffee, re charge the batteries so you can keep on being a tourist without pooping out.

Has chicory root, but the flavor is just right, not too strong and sweetened with organic sugar cane, has just the right amount of sweet! Can't wait to visit their arts district location close to home!
