Beautiful, quiet cafe. I agree, great place to get some work done, read a book or catch up with a friend. The mismatched brick walls and wooden planks gives a rustic atmosphere along with the antique knick knacks. Playlist is awesome and relaxing.
Best bingsoo in the area! I am not Korean but have been eating bingsoo at Cafe Leah and Sheroo. Love the taro flavor they offer and look forward to trying more of their flavors.
Lots of parking available behind the building. Just be careful coming in and out because the exit and enter is one small driveway.
I remember going to Gateaux for pastries, bread, and snacks hand in hand with my mom when I was in grade school ~ high school. You see, there was Gateaux before Caffe Bene, Paris Baguette, Tous Les Jours, etc, and so it was like a trip down memory lane when I came upon the shop few weeks ago. Yes, the location, the food, the bread, the management, everything changed, but I walked in and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the pleasant smell of coffee and bread and butter in the air. I ordered an iced latte, and it tasted great. My sister ordered an ice coffee and discovered that they serve their iced coffee with coffee ice cubes! As an avid coffee drinker, I know this takes A LOT of time and effort, and its a pleasant touch to a rather typical Korean-style bakery/coffee shop.
I haven't tried their food/desserts, so this rating is based solely on my reminiscing and their coffee ice cubes.
We stopped by last night for dessert. We really enjoyed the taro snow bingsoo. The bananas underneath the ice was a nice touch. The boba on the side – meh, I've had better boba. The texture was off. The place was 1/3 full but quickly emptied out as the night progressed. $13 was pricey for the ice, but the portion was big, and you're paying for the ambience!
Parking – we found it in front but there is parking in the back as well.
