I don't visit tbaar often. However, with the recommendation from my friend, I've become quite fond of their coconut smoothie.
Although I wish it could come with a little less ice as it tastes a bit watered down, the one I got from this location tastes better than the one I got on 8th Avenue.
Unfortunately, I think KFT will remain one of my favorites.
One afternoon the Kung Fu Tea near my home had several issues and couldn't make any drinks and my boyfriend and I were utterly disappointed, but then I realized there was a TBaar nearby Planet Fitness (we go gym there).
Tbaar's are usually small shops with no place to sit and enjoy unlike Kung Fu Tea or Tenren's, so it's best to order, grab, and go.
My boyfriend got a mango orange smoothie and it was extremely fresh. There were chunks of mango which was real yummy. I got a Thai iced tea and it was decent, but not the best I've had.
The service was good, quick, and efficient I also like that they make juices and fresh fruit/vegetable smoothies.
I am so glad that they opened one on 86th Street! I usually get the Orange Mango smoothie, since they are both combinations of my favorite fruits. They have a huge selection of smoothies, fruit teas, and milk teas. If you're in the mood for fresh juices, they have that as well. The fruits are displayed in the front, so you can determine whether or not they are fresh. When I went, a customer did order a fresh juice and the fruits looked very fresh!
I asked for less sugar in my drink and it tasted yummy! I don't have to walk all the way to Kung Fu Tea now!
It's a Tea/smoothie/juicing chain and seems to be popping up all over BK & Queens! Has like 2 tiny tables for seating… Really a grab & go place.
Great variation of tea flavor selection (like seriously? taro smoothie? Uh… Pass). Compared to their competitors (Kung Fu tea, ViVi, etc) – I actually like Tbaar much better.
My fav: red bean smoothie w/ pudding and coconut smoothie w/ pudding! It's not overly sweet, and especially in the Summer – it's a must have in my house! Large runs about $5… (Toppings add about 50 cents) — but they've been running the promo "buy large drink, get 1 free topping". My family loves their milk tea w/ herbal jelly — as in they don't taste the nasty powder!
PS: Idk what those Yelpers are bitching about… Every single time I get my drinks, the topping is over-loaded. Maybe they want their whole drink to be about the topping..? Then just buy the topping. Smh…
