Rite Aid

“Though, I'm thinking people are confusing this new location with the old and busted up location a block away on 30th ave.”

“Every encounter, conversation, concern or question I've raised, they've helped- whether it's over the phone, at the pharmacy, or through my doctors' offices.”

“So really go to this location near Key Food NOT the one near the subway!!!!”

  1. Came in one day for a cream that my doctor prescribed me for a burn on my arm and waited over 20 minutes when there was no line, two pharmacists, and the cream was already made. If it were a medication that comes in pill form i would have turned a year older waiting for it.

  2. This pharmacy is OK, but there are always long lines, even when it's not rush hour and about three people in the pharmacy, they manage to maintain a line of customers patiently waiting. And why is there always a customer arguing with the staff? I wouldnt blame it all on Rite Aid, more like a combination of bad customer service and the local Astoria freaks with too much time on their hands. Ok lady, you were charged 20 cent too much on your pack of toilet paper, move on with your life instead of holding the line for 20 minutes. And yes, you will never take your business here again. I'm sure the establishment will go under.

Waiting in the line for prescriptions take ages, bring a book.

  3. When this location is crowded the line tends to move pretty slowly.  There are great discounts here when using your Rite Aid card and you don't always have to have your card on you to use it, you can simply type your number into the keypad.  However, I recently had an experience where the system wasn't recognizing my phone number and it said I wasn't a Rite Aid member, even though I had been going to that exact Rite Aid for close to 2 years (and I had about 2,000 points on my card).  Because I didn't have the card, or key ring, on me I had to open up a new account in order to get the store's discounts.  Point of the story: make sure you have your card on you at all times because your phone number might not work.

  4. This place has everything that you would expect a drugstore chain to have.
That being said, there always seems to be a long line. They should really add some check-out staff or some self check-out kiosks.
Also, the cashiers don't always ask for your loyalty card (or number) even when this would result in a discount.
If there were a CVS nearby I would probably go there instead.

  5. Once upon a time Rite Aid was Thrifty's and once upon a time I think this Rite Aid was Eckerd's. Back to Thrifty's, Thrifty's had award winning ice cream and some Rite Aid's do still sell Thrifty's ice cream. I love Thrifty's ice cream, especially the chocolate malted crunch flavor.

I went into Rite Aid looking to buy some ice cream to bring home. My friend and I immediately went to the frozen aisle and on the ice cream case, it was locked and there were multiple signs taped up to the freezer saying "Out of Order". Just my luck. Even funnier was staring at the ice cream in the broken freezer. It was nasty and sad. All of the Edy's ice cream had melted and exploded over the top of the gallon cartons. Then the ice cream refroze into some nasty looking goo. It was really quite sad and disappointing to look at. Rite Aid or the Edy's merchandisers should have thrown out the bad ice cream. Someone better go Lysol the freezer filled with the rotten food. We left empty handed to continue the search for my ice cream. Based on this experience, I doubt I will be going back to this Rite Aid. The whole place is just junky.
