Standard Rite-Aid, with smallish parking lot. Can get quite busy. Store has a lot of items, but does feel a bit cluttered, like they ran out of room to put stuff.
If this place wasn't near my house, I would not recommend anyone going to it. Also it's the closest pharmacy that accepts my insurance…SIGH, I honestly hate this store, even after the renovation, the service still sucks. Their lines are always so damn long, whether you're just checking out milk or getting your prescriptions! Everyone here seems to be moving at a glacial pace. They look like they're understaffed on the cashier end because the line can stretch for a mile and there will still only be one old cashier ringing everyone out, and of course all the customers get super impatient! Of course it's not the cashier's fault, I really feel bad that they don't receive more help.
As for the pharmacy end, everyone there also works at a snail pace. This one old pharmacy tech is so ancient and he just takes forever to actually look me up in the computer. Of course this also isn't his fault, but other people working in the pharmacy should help the guy out instead of standing there having a chat with each other! I also hate how they dump all your medications out for the world to see when you pick up your prescriptions. Like what if I don't want the rest of the line to see what I'm getting at the pharmacy?! I understand it's a part of the verification process to make sure you get the right prescription but there are multiple other ways you can make sure your patient gets the right med! Jeezus…Can't wait till Walgreens buy all these damn Rite Aids out
Because this Rite-Aid is open 24/7, you should know that there is a revolving door of personalities here: both in the clientele and the staff.
A long line is the norm here, because management doesn't really have their shit together, nor do they really care. Some of the cashiers are really nice and I question how unhappy they are because it's written on some of their faces. Waiting in line espouses a lot of angry customers, though I was once offered a job here as a paralegal. I think I was buying gum.
I come here often, especially around finals week, so I really can't complain if I can get a junk-food fix at 1 in the morning. However, one time, we came in here to escape the weird locals on our way to our apartment. And there was this really weird person with thick-framed glasses just standing by the entrance, visibly salivating. Also, the cashier that night (I think it was 230AM) looked like a gnome, and he was scary. But that's Queens/NY for you.
Huge renovation of this location about a month ago certainly feels newer, cleaner, and more approachable although the aisles still feel tight and I don't understand the logic behind the alarm-equipped fiberglass covering the deodorant. I mean… the most expensive ones are place on the top shelf free to snag without any bells or whistles?
From the handful of prior times I've been here for pharmaceutical odds and ends, I did encounter some lackadaisical service to help find an item. To the point, if this location is convenient to you and you're looking for pharma basics, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by (there is a parking lot.) If ambiance is your thing, perhaps the pharmacist can prescribe you a stronger anti-obnoxigent.
it's a shitstorm of misplaced items you can never find and noone helpful to help you find anything you need. for basics, it's fine. i use their pharmacy bc it's convenient, but it really depends on day of week and time of day you choose to go.
This past Saturday afternoon mishap: I walk in, grab a card for a baby shower. Chick scans it and says to me, "I don't think we sell this". **Blank stare** I respond back, "but… I just grabbed it off the card rack. In your store". "Well the barcode isn't giving me a price to scan. Mind getting another one?". Folks, you've gotta laugh, but it is convenient.
I don't have the heart to keep the one star review going especially when there are obvious signs of changes, even if they seem tacky to me. They recently "renovated" this place by replacing shelves with plastic. I can't quite grasp the concept of plastering the whole space with obvious fake wood, just flimsy pieces of plastic colored to give the look of wood. Extra star for not seeing that employee (from previous review) again. Extra star for effort. However service is evidently still in need of the most improvement. Always a long line for checkout even at odd hours during the day and night.
This Rite Aid is awful.
Disorganization, extremely long lines at any time of day, and an interesting mix of customers.
I hate that I have to give them one star, so let's say it's for their 24/7 service.

No automatic doors,no green teas,no good shampoos & the photo machines aren't working. TO TOP IT OFF… THE FLOORS ARE DIRTY & employees standing around
