Toby’s Estate Coffee

“Cool atmosphere with huge windows and lots of hipsters writing screenplays on their Macs.”

“The only downside is that there aren't any outlets (if you're using a laptop) but other than that, I highly recommend this coffeehouse if you're ever in the area!”

“The interior is impressive: high ceiling, warm-urban contemporary decor and an instant cool vibe.”

  1. We stopped by Toby's coffeehouse with our stepbrother on a recent trip to Brooklyn. It was his favorite coffee shop in an area which seemingly has coffee everywhere. We really enjoyed the cold brew especially on a hot day. It was a nice comforting place to relax during the bustle of a day touring New York City. Nice service, good coffee and relaxing environment is always worth a stop to try!

  2. Toby's roasts their own bean in house — they offer some cool classes – check them out online!

My tea was great & my girlfriends latte was great too.

Came here on a Sunday and was close to impossible to find seating.

The decor was beautiful, but I would never want to come here to work.  The windows are huge, which brings in a great amount of sunlight but can probably glare your computer.  Also- was way too loud for me.

  3. Location: definitely one of my favorite coffee shop in Williamsburg. The place is close to the Main Street where you see fancy stores but this place maintains its coolness. Why? Decoration is hipster for sure, and the sofa are essential for you to feel at home. And yeah, wifi.
But this place is always packed and you may need to put some efforts of you want to stay here for a long period of time

Coffee: they have hand pour over and other brand they owned
I feel like they are okay.
    Not too strong.
My friend told me that the latte is too nasty to embrace
    Lol

Service: BYOB and serve your self

    Price: comparably expensive

  4. Though my star rating isn't changing, wanted to update this review as now, more than a year after my original one, I live in the neighborhood and Toby's has become a somewhat regular haunt. The plusses have increased: avocado toast, good fruit and granola, tea served in pretty vintage china, and doughnuts from Doughnut Plant. Oh, plus a big bench area in front of the store which is awesome to sit at and soak up the sun on a nice day. The negative is definitely the crowd. It's very hard to get your own table most of the time, but fairly easy to get a seat at the big communal tables in the middle of the space. You'll find yourself elbow to elbow with everyone else typing away on their laptops and it can feel a bit claustrophobic. Still a great coffee shop option, though!

  5. My stay at Toby's Estate was a short and sweet one. It was too crowded on a Sunday afternoon because of the great weather so I decided to order some toast to-go. I got their avocado toast & cold brew. To my surprise, the barista said she'll give me the cold brew for free saying, "its hot outside :-)" Talk about great service!

The avocado toast was simple yet delicious and the free cold brew tasted even better. Thanks Toby's Estate for making my short stay worthwhile!

  6. Beautiful coffee shop. My friend and I went there this morning to coffice. Ambiance is great, and not too noisy.

Only issue is that 1) their WiFi is extremely crappy; and 2) there are no power outlets.

  7. Coffee shop and roasting plant at this Brooklyn location! So crowded EVERY seat was taken PLUS everyone was already sharing tables (glad to know ppl are friendly). The line still reached the door when i left at 5 pm!

love the LARGE front windows that allow lots of sunlight in, probably why it's such a popular spot. Warning, certain tables do not allow laptops. maybe it's a weekend thing?
–iced coffee: enjoyed this one, at $3.75 its a 16 oz cup

There are benches to sit outside if you cant find a seat inside

NOTE: free wifi although it comes and goes since theres a separate page you have to accept terms & conditions on & it doesnt always automatically re connect

  8. I never satyed there with my drink as it is always packed but it worth 4 stars for the ice latte and their tea that i have tried. I don't think I am a huge connoisseur but i can recognize good and bad coffee (thanks to the awful coffee at work and at starbucks). And their iced latte is amazing. Very smooth. I also had black coffee and you tell from the smell that the coffee is fresh and good quality of coffee bean.
However when there is a waiting line and even if the service is ok, i am not willing to do wait 10/15 min for coffee. There are other place around. Check yelp or google maps.
