  1. OK Cafe coffee really gets me going. Strong coffee and a variety of it. It's good black, with milk, and/or sugar. Never bitter.
Don't get me started on coffee quality, this place is it.

Homemade pop tarts are a must. Any flavor, just pickone!

Dining inside is fine, although the bench is taller than the chairs. I've yet to use the bar on the window. It's a small place and good for to-go.

I can't wait to go back and try their matcha lemonade!

  2. I took a lactaid in preparation of trying their Magic 8 ball. Made with chicory coldbrew and brown sugar syrup, I'd been afraid that this would be too strong and sweet. It was neither. The heavy cream in this performed it's balancing act perfectly, cutting the bite of the chicory coldbrew; it was sweetened just enough to make this silky beverage that much easier to slip down my throat.

  3. This is my new favorite coffee shop. The coffee is strong, good and of high quality.
The baristas are all super friendly and they really know their coffee.

I am obsessed with their "Teddy Bear Financier." Those little-darn-cute-scrumptious things!

  4. So every time we walked by this place just off Ditmars my boyfriend would comment "that place looks like it'd have good coffee." It got to be a running joke until we finally checked it out, and it did! Obviously he was quite gleeful. But the people here were super nice, also they have almond milk!!! And the coffee is fantastic. Not much room to sit but they do have a few tables and a couple benches out front. Just found my new Astoria coffee spot!

  5. Atmosphere: super hipster and tiny space but I loved it. Fun music at the perfect volume so you can actually talk and hear each other. But suuuuuper tiny space, so if you're having a more intimate convo, take it to 60 beans down the street.

Coffee: I only tried the almond maple latte and a liiiiittle teeny bit too sweet for my liking. Although I think it has more than usually espresso because I'm wired up at the moment lol I wish they had more variety with their pastries but I didn't bother trying because nothing really spoke to me.

Prices: $5..eh, what do you expect? Lol. Same as pretty much anywhere.

Staff: super sweet. The cashier didn't really know the menu well but the barista jumped in to help out. He was pumped and friendly.

Will I be back? Proooobably. But only because it's close by. I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Also the no screen policy on the weekends is a buzzkill. I got work to do!

  6. I thought the lemonade/iced tea arnold palmer type thing was a tad sweet but it's a really nice space and a nice place to get a bit of work done. I find it kind of annoying how many coffee shops in NYC don't really make it easy to do work considering how small a lot of the apartments in town are but at OK Cafe they turn the wifi on during the weekdays and off during the weekends which I think is a fair compromise.

  7. Such a cute and cozy coffee place! I ordered their cappuchino ! Nice , strong and hot! Just the way I like it!

  8. Delicious cappuccino and iced Kyoto cold brewed coffee. They advertised that the Kyoto coffee was "complex" It was simple enough for me, delicious and refreshing! The cappuccino was strong and nutty and I ordered an almond croissant which they warmed up for me, nothing quite pairs as well as coffee and a sweet warm almond croissant, yum factor of 10+

Seating is limited with about 10 seats inside and located outside 2 small type park benches. The baristas were friendly and prices as expected for a small local café in Astoria.

The only downsides were the limited baked goods they had to offer and the poor performance of the air conditioner to cool the café. Overall, OK Café is "A-OK" in my book!
