The line here is outrageous even at 11 pm. !!!!!!! The sorbets are much better then the gelato. The amorino and dulce de leche were good but not amazing. I didn't like the pistachio at all it lacked taste and wasn't sweet at all. Theres a lot of hype about this place I guess because of the flower shape and macarons on the gelato. Its good and worth trying but not memorable in flavor. I think next time will go for sorbet the mango was outstanding! Not as good as I expected gelato to be. It was underwhelming and looked way prettier then it tasted. Pistachio tasted bitter to my taste and hazelnut was lacking sweetness. It was very similar in taste to other flavors I had like amorino.
Tried the mango sorbet which was pretty good. I like how they make them into flower shapes which are really pretty and unique. I wouldn't say it was the best mango sorbet I have ever had, but it was of good quality and I would try Amorino again just for the flower shaped gelato. And because I am a sucker for good gelato.
I absolutely love this place. I haven't had better gelato/sorbet in NYC yet. Yes, it's a little pricey, but you get high quality gelato as naturally as possible with no artificial colors or flavorings. Most other places the gelato is watery or isn't rich. Not here. Their gelato/sorbet is delicious and the abundance of flavors will have you thinking what you want to pick. You can pick as many flavors as you want and they will make a flower shape on your cone. The flavors are rich and intense, and well worth the money.
So far I have not yet been disappointed with any of the flavors I've tried, whether it was gelato or sorbet.
The way Amorino's serves gelato is truly an art. Choose your cone size, pick your favorite flavors, and watch as the server shapes them into petals and combines them into the shape of a rose. The texture of the gelato is soft, and its flavors rich and intense without being overwhelming. If you're in an intimate relationship, your lover will appreciate you for getting him/her this! Although it's a little on the pricey side, but you won't regret having dropped money on a beautiful, edible artisanal flower. 🙂
P.S.: Be careful during the summer! The gelato melts fast, but is still tasty nonetheless.
Grossly overpriced (I paid a little more than $12 for 2 medium cones) – but the gelato here is some serious stuff.
You can ask for as many flavors as you want, but I just stuck with 3: pistachio (a must), dulce de leche (yum), and vanilla (can't go wrong) – all of which were delicious! I thought the small cone looked too small while I was on line so I opted for medium – instantly regretted it and had my boyfriend help me finish it. I would strongly advise you stick with a small if you don't have much of a sweet tooth.
Very cool how they craft the cones – it looks like a rose! Come here if you're craving gelato and aesthetics.
Just like the franchises in Europe, Amorino nr Union Sq does not disappoint. Whether you get a small, medium or large you can have as many flavors as you want. They also let you try a bunch first — if you're indecisive like me. I got a small cone with pistachio, chocolate and speculoos. The speculoos was by far my favorite and had some crushed up speculoos cookies on top. All the flavors were rich and creamy. There was a bit of a wait at 9pm on a Friday night (to be expected when its 90 degrees out!) — but the line moved rathee quickly. Amorino is def the place for gelato with the added bonus of being shaped like a pretty blossoming flower!
Nice cafe specializing in gelato. They had a wide array of flavors and a line that snaked through the store. The line moved quickly. My wife had pistachio (by law) and I tried the hazelnut. Both of our portions were quite nutty. Like us!
One of my favorite gelato spots – despite the fact that I didn't get their gelato flower in a cone until my most recent visit. It was so pretty visually and I love the mixture of flavors when you get to the center of the flower!
I've never had a bad gelato flavor here and I quite like how they operate the line – you pay first and then hand the workers behind the gelato case your receipt so they know exactly what you ordered. You just tell them your preferred flavors and they get right to work.
Try coconut and mango for a lovely tropical treat!
