  1. The single aeropressed beans are here for you.

They also do happy hours occasionally, e.g. I got a small pumpkin spiced latte for $2 once. Check their twitter account.

I also really recommend their smoothie bowls. They also seem to make a nice kale salad. Pastry selection is abundant.

  2. The ham and cheese was tasty, but the women warming it up didn't specify WHAT was mine (tooo many damn treats in one bag). I'm sorry mine was 5 bucks, I don't want a little one that was 2 bucks. First time well maybe second time (can't remember). I can't deal with horrible service, that's all

  3. Good hot coco and a cookie.  And it's not Starbucks!

  4. Gregorys Coffee serves pretty good coffee and has a good selection of pastries, and I prefer it over Starbucks, but it still doesn't hold a candle to La Colombe a block away on Wall Street.

That being said, La Colombe usually takes longer and is a little more expensive, so if I want a quick coffee & pastry at a decent price, I'll come to Gregorys.

The space is a decent size, and most people in the morning are just coming in and out, so you can always get a seat if you want to sit.

And, I do like their pastries – croissants, muffins and their glazed donut is pretty good as well.

Coffee is good as well, and like I said before, there's typically no line and hassle as Starbucks across the street.

This is my Go To spot in FiDi for a quick coffee & pastry, unless I have more time and want higher quality, and then will go to La Colombe nearby.

    Overall a solid coffee shop.

  5. Cool vibe….strangely laid back for being in the middle of Manhattan. Cappuccino was delicious, pretty straight-forward shit. Friendly staff and nice seating area…no bathroom though 🙁

  6. Iced coffee- delicious!!!!  They also have water cups if needed.  A bit small spot, so not many seats but there are a few near the window to people watch.  A few plugs as well if you need to recharge.  They are friendly staff and told me the nearest bathroom is at Cafe Express since they don't have one!

  7. Why is a coffee shop's main photo a donut? Because that's how mediocre their coffee is.
Gregorys is an ever growing chain in Downtown Manhattan that offers better than Starbucks coffee in the same price range (or perhaps a bit more expensive).
Aeropress is apparently their thing though I guess they pick and choose who to inform about such interesting coffee ideas since they have not once even mentioned an aeropress to me, and I have been here too many times to count.
It is conveniently located next to the Bowling Green bull I love to observe being molested by tourists. I like to sip my overpriced iced coffee (that isn't very good here, but their espresso based drinks are a MUCH better alternative) while watching tourists passive aggressively fight to snap pictures of the bull's balls. Not quite sure what they do with these pictures once they are home, but it makes for interesting people watching from the window of this Gregorys.

They have a ridiculous amount of pastries, so much so that it's often unappetizing to look at all that grease behind the window, and it eventually deters me from actually purchasing one, even if I'm craving something sweet. I did get a wheat donut one morning (because in my head this was a "healthier" alternative than a regular one) and I was unimpressed- it tasted stale which shouldn't be the case if it's still morning. Guess that was a donut that didn't sell in their "Half-off pastries after 5PM" deal.

I will probably visit this Gregorys again because if you're in this area what's a better alternative for coffee? Pret A Manger? Yeah, right.

  8. I'm not a fan of their coffee (usually tastes burnt), HOWEVER… their baked goods are amazing!  I had Gregory's carrot cake loaf this past weekend and it was a large hefty slice of pure perfection – amazing carrot/nutty flavor and moist texture.  Everything else looks delicious – can't wait to try more!
