   I LOVE YOU, BUSHWICK FOOD COOP!

   I purchased a CSA share through the BFC the last two summers and have been shopping through the Buying Club for the last year or so and I love it!  I've also volunteered with the food coop since it started in 2009 and it's been a great way to meet my neighbors and help bring healthy food to the neighborhood.

   While the coop is small (for now!), it has a surprising selection of products through the buying club. Since I get the CSA, I don't purchase too many veggies through the buying club, but I stock up on bulk organic beans, nuts, and grains, along with other staples like tofu, tempeh, Daiya vegan cheese, and more. I've especially liked the specialty items offered on occasion, like Dr. Cow raw nut cheese and fancy heirloom veggies.

   Food cooperatives are such a huge component of community-building and grassroots efforts to increase access to healthy food among all populations. BFC has done a great job of bringing healthier food options to Bushwick while keeping the prices low. Keep up the good work, people!

   LOVE.

   They have member and nonmember pricing so anyone who has the dough can spend spend spend! They do accept plastic and of course cash.

   Great selection in produce, great brands in regards to seasonings, dressings, etc.

   Friendly staff, I stayed in the apartment on top of Shops in the Loom where this beautiful co-op shares space with other small businesses, which you just gotta love.

   All in all a positive vibe here and the items are great! Vegan and vegetarian friendly to the max, however for those poultry eaters I did see them carry organic farmed whole chickens.
