This review is strictly for the beans sold here; never had JJ's brewed coffee or tea. We have a coffee maker that requires extremely fresh beans. This has become my go to spot for beans. JJ's has a good but small selection which is fine for me – not too overwhelming and the prices are fair: most coffee is $8 per half pound. The guy behind the counter (I'll get his name one day) is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the DeadHead blend and the Costa Rican.
I went there five days ago with two friends from Germany and we all liked it. Good eggnog latté (a real treat, as usually I can only find it during wintertime), a tiny but pleasant interior, a very friendly owner and a good selection of coffee beans.
Very cute coffee shop! I got a soy latte and it was made perfectly. They also sell coffee beans and different coffee mixes, most importantly Big Train chai mix which is my favorite. I would definitely come back!
Teeny tiny shop off of 7th Ave that is dedicated to all things coffee. I love supporting the little guys! Very friendly service. Can't say I've tried their coffee but I have bought the Brooklyn blend by the pound for my father in Texas who's always looking for a good tasting cuppa Joe. I highly recommend if you're looking for a place that's the antithesis of mass production. 🙂
Java Joe is an adorable little coffee shop that is quintessentially Brooklyn. Step in and smell the fresh aroma of actual coffee beans on display and available to purchase. They also have some cool tea available. Less than a 10 minute walk from Prospect Park!
Cute little shop right off the F train / 7th Ave stop. Not my favorite iced soy latte (3 shots of espresso!) I've ever had but I have to admit I'm not a knowledgable coffee person, just like my iced soy latte drinks once in a while and this one was very strong (probably a good thing for most people?!) My friend loves their iced chai lattes. It was very yummy though too sweet for my taste.
This is the only place I will purchase my ground coffee to make at home. I have made coffee for guests and they RAVE about it. Once you try coffee from here, there is no going back. It's a comfortable, small neighborhood spot with down to earth employees. Must purchase a bag of coffee here. The hazelnut cream is my favorite.
