Vegan ice cream! And I'm not even vegan! (I've convinced myself that this is a "healthier" option for my ice cream addiction and the you honestly can't even tell that it's vegan. It is so creamy and sweet and everything you'd expect from regular ice cream.)
I love that there is a set price for every ice cream no matter how many toppings you add. I was sooo bummed when Blue Marble left this location so I am super happy that a new and delicious ice cream spot opened up! Thanks Cobble Hill!

These guys work their eye cream. Loved the black sesame ice cream with unlimited free toppings including fresh fruit (raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, blueberries) and even a pocky stick!
You go, order and pay.
Then wait until they call your name so you can step up and watch your ice cream being made, literally. They start with liquid and it freezes and then is rolled.
The black sesame was great, although I got a little green tea from the last person's ice cream on mine.
I think 3.5 stars is more fitting. This place gets packed pretty quickly, since everyone wants to see a show. Ice cream runs $6.50 and you get unlimited toppings.
That's all fine and good, and it's a decent price, but here's the problem–in terms of quality, it's just alright. I think it's awesome that they make the flavor in front of you, but they're losing lower fat milk, since it freezes better, and it just kind of tastes…normal. We got the simply cookie butter ice cream and I wasn't wowed at all.
The real problem I have is that you have Ample Hills, Van Leeuwen, and Milk Made all within a pretty close radius to Blossom. They're all significantly better. Better quality ice cream, better flavors, better taste.
I'll probably go back to Blossom, since it's fun to see a show, but if I'm going for pure quality? You can find me at one of the other places. My Ample Hill obsession remains unhindered.
I'm pretty traditional when it comes to my ice cream tastes,* so I was a little skeptical of this newfangled rolled ice cream nonsense…even more so considering there's only the one size at $6.50, while I prefer to order a child's portion at, you know, a reasonable price to pay for ice cream.
However, I must admit that Blossom is worth it, mostly because (1) you get unlimited toppings and (2) you're paying for ice cream and a show. I threw numerous children to the ground so I had a better view of the action.
The dudes chopping and rolling your ice cream put some serious effort in there; since it'd be the same amount of work, I can understand why they don't do smaller sizes.
I shared a Classic Cooler with my wife, which consists of Oreo, banana (actual, fresh banana), and caramel (although you have to ask them to put on later, which I didn't realize so I left without any delicious caramel). The only topping we went for were the mini-peanut butter cups (kind of weak), but overall, the ice cream tastes good. Because ice cream tastes good.
Even without the novelty, I'd probably still do it again. Because ice cream tastes good.

Although this place is way out of the way for me I would come back here in a heartbeat. They make the Thai roll ice cream in front of you and you are allowed unlimited toppings for $6.50 for a large portion. They have a lot of unique flavors. We tried the lavender berry which was sweet yet the lavender was very mild but definitely complimented the berries well. We also tried the Virgin mojito which was tangy from the lime and sweet from the graham cracker. The service is pretty fast but the place is small with limited seating. They give out loyalty cards and after 10 ice creams you get one free.
I ended a long day of exploring Brooklyn with a stop at Blossom — it was my first time trying the whole rolled ice-cream trend. First off, the store is very cute, super small and set up so that you can watch your ice cream being rolled up through a partial glass at the counter! The 'rollers' take some cream, your flavor items (I had a classic cooler meaning oreos, caramel and banana), and place it all on the cold stone to harden it The cup, which comes with 4-5 rolls, is a large portion and comes in at $6.50; luckily the toppings are unlimited. I found the toppings to be places sparingly on the ice cream and to be limited in options (but I am too spoiled by froyo toppings bars).
In all– the ice cream was fresh tasting and came with a show. However, I although the flavors are innovative, I did not think that the icecream itself was anything amazing; I have had better. Would I come back for the novelty of it? yes. Would I come back for the ice cream alone? no.
Ironically I've found more Thai rolled ice cream parlors in New York than I found in Thailand! (Recently visited last month)
This ice cream hype is taking NYC by the storm. I still prefer the spots in Manhattan more but I like that Blossom offers unlimited toppings with your order, unlike Snow & Cream who charges per topping.
The Wildberry Lavender would've been great IF there was actually lavender in it. The berry flavor was there but the I did not taste nor smell any lavender. Presentation was nice and the ice cream wasn't melted when it was handed to me. The toppings are decent, fresh fruits and they even offer strawberry kit kat and matcha pocky. I suppose the toppings kind of make up for the lack of lavender.

This Thai rolled ice cream is really fun. They make it fresh when you order and you can have as many toppings as you like for around $7 (with tax). It's pricey, but you get entertainment as you can see the worker making the ice cream right in front of you.
I ordered the blueberry lavender one topped with blueberries and mochi. The lavender flavor was masked by the blueberry. I greatly enjoyed the freshness of the ice cream.
The store is quite small. There's a small window seat for two and then a wall table with some stools as well. If there are more than four customers, it's crowded.
