  1. This bakery is a hole-in-the-wall jewel in Chelsea. The staff worker interacted with me in a welcoming way, and the treats that are offered look and are decadent.

My friend and I walked into a treasure trove of goodies: key lime pie cupcakes, red velvet whoopie pies stuffed with cream cheese, and large, soft choco chip cookies. We also saw a person behind the counter adding final touches to a large cake in the shape of a firefighter sitting on a ledge: when my friend and I asked about it, we learned that the bakery is entering the NY Cake Show with that firefighter cake!

I opted for the coconut lemon raspberry cupcake, which was moist, rich, and satisfying. I wish that this bakery had a place for folks to sit outside, but I didn't mind that too much since my friend and I got beverages at a different place. I want to come back here again soon!

  2. Yummy and cheap for the size!! $3.50 for the half pound cookies that are Bigger than my hand!!

—chocolate chip cookie: more chocolate chip than cookie batter. Yummy with some crunch on the outside and a bit chewier toward middle. It's good but big so share!!

I def wanna try more so I started a cookie stamp card!

NOTE: it's a basement shop with no seating, just take away. They also have cupcakes and you can order custom cakes

  3. Huuugeee half pound cookies! You can't finish one by yourself,  the cookie is just too sugary… buuuut cut it into pieces like you'd do with a pizza and share with 2 other people in your life and you'd be satisfied. I usually go for the original chocolate chip cookie. The red velvet is good too but just a Tad sugary.

  4. Wow I am genuinely impressed at how amazing the cupcakes from City Cakes are. They just might be the best I've had in New York..or rather anywhere.

Dark chocolate raspberry: Ridiculously soft and moist cake with a rich and decadent chocolate taste. Oozes raspberry and cream from the inside and generously topped off with frosting and shaved chocolate. Wish I knew the exact flavors and components of the cupcake, but just know that you won't be disappointed if you're a chocolate lover. It's a dream.

Creme brulee: Again, ridiculously soft and moist cake with a cream filling. The signature burnt sugar on top remained crunchy and intact despite time and the warm weather. Actually tasted like creme brulee. Delicious.

I highly recommend this place if you're in the city and looking for a sugar fix.

  5. Small bakery shop in chelsea with a entrance below ground level. Come here for the cupcakes as they are moist and full of flavor. My favorites are the red velvet and double chocolate. The iceing really stands out to me and is a great snack or dessert. The tiramisu is full of rum flavor. You can really get drunk to this cupcake. Another favorte is the caramel. Nice sweet buttery flavor that matches well with the vanilla cake.

A great spot in Chelsea for your sweet tooth.

  6. This little hidden gem is tucked in a basement and it can easily get overlooked. Once I arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful aromas of the fresh baked goods! I felt like I was in my grandmothers kitchen. Immediately I was greeted by a warm welcome.. His name was Nick. He was very enthusiastic about the establishment, the perfect person to have as the face of the company. Now to the good part…(drumroll)!!! The cookies were phenomenal! I ordered a double chocolate chip, a snookle doodle and a chocolate chip (all were Nicks recommendations) It wasn't just for me I brought them for my parents as well. They loved it too! The cookies tasted fresh and moist. You can tell they're made with so much love! I also got a City Cakes card that I will puting some more punches in so I can get a free treat!

  7. I only tried a chocolate chip cookie from here, but I'm definitely a fan. The cookies are a whopping HALF POUND and they're delicious!

Note: It's a basement shop so keep that in mind when you're trying to find it. It's really easy to miss the little sign they have out in front of the stairs. The shop is tiny and has no seating so be prepared to take your desserts on the go.

  8. My favorite cookies!

Heaven in my mouth!! Their cupcakes & cookies are delicious! I'm always a fan of city cakes. They take their baking skills to the next level. You pay what you get. Cookies are big & filling. The red velvet is my favorite. It has cream cheese inside. The cupcake that I tried last night has a blueberry frosting inside. Its that sweet & a little sour taste makes it so flavorful.

Hurry & try their yummy cookies & cupcakes! 😉
