Cafe CD

“More expensive than its downtown counterparts, but on-par for midtown, open 24 hours (so I'm told), and has just about anything I could want, food and drink wise.”

“The sushi section has rolls made with brown rice which can be a bit harder to find, so thats a plus.”

  1. Okay so here's the scoop.  I like going to choices (silo) but I'm afraid to eat there because their DOH grade has been "pending" for like two years and they closed for a few weeks last year (my guess is because they have a lot of mice poop in the food, but thats just a guess)

This place is like a mirror image of choices – almost literally because its on the opposite side of the street.  the hot and cold buffet LOOKS outstanding, but I'm also afraid of buffets because people are gross and don't wash their hands – so I opt for a burger.

the burgers are fantastic.  It might be me though, each time I've come here, they've messed up.  The first time, I guess we weren't clear that we wanted the special with fries – so they made us another order of fries and instead of being like 6.95, it came out to like 11.00.  Okay, I can actually take part blame for that, we just didn't order properly.

Today, though, I was yearning for a burger – especially since I mentioned it to Janeen yesterday and really wanted another – so I ordered – carefully – a number 6 (so they'd know to add fries) but with a turkey burger instead of a beef burger (no, I love the cow, I just had the turkey burger last time and it was surprisingly juice and delicious so I wanted it again).  And they make it to order, so you know you're gona wait a few minutes (nbd)

So the guy gives me my lunch, and he added a dollar to it – which I was cool with, since I changed it.  I pay, go outside, and then one comes running outside "sorry – thats not your order".  We go back inside, I figure he's just got them swapped and is going to get my lunch – so I wait to the side.  and wait. and wait.  and then he looks at me and goes "wheres the other sandwich?" so I point to the counter.  he takes it…and I'm literally standing there for close to 15 minutes.

i get CRANKY when I'm hungry.  Finally he looks at me again and goes "what are you waiting for?"  um – the food I already paid for, idiot, what do you think I'm waiting for?  So he looks stunned…and makes my lunch.  "Do you want fries with that" me "didn't I pay for them already?"

I'm never ever ever rude to servers, either – because I know its a rough job, and I feel bad…but cmon.  Its lunch time guy, get it together.

my burger, though was delicious.  Maybe I'm an ordering moron…maybe they can't hear – maybe a combo of the both…le sigh.

  2. Ordered seamless breakfast the other day… super fast. Not bad, what I expected. They did everything right.
