Amazing spices & teas, great mix of local and international foods (including my favorite Bundaberg Ginger Beer), and great bulk, cheese, and deli sections. I found the prices fairly reasonable (some on the pricier end, but their bulk pistachios for example were $14/lb which is cheaper than the Park Slope Food Coop). Also nice: I checked in on Yelp & spent $25 and got a free (very delicious) large cup of tea. Thanks! I'll definitely be back.
Fantastic place! They have everything here in so many variations! They have a mix of functional and fun. Maybe not the everyday go to but easily a once a week stop.
We put together a fun charcuterie/smorgasbord-right next to a wonderful wine shop that paired up nicely. Picked up some baked goodies as well!
Candy, dried fruit, fresh whole coffee beans and loose leaf teas, fresh bread, cheeses from all over the world, tons of pastas, everything fresh! Love this spot.
Many choices and variety in many items. Unfortunately, I found that they lacked many traditional middle eastern foods in favor of diversifying their inventory beyond middle eastern groceries. Although smaller, I would suggest visiting Damascus Bakery just next door first to find some things which Sahadi's may be missing.
The hummus was okay. I don't see what people are raving about; I had better. I have to admit the customer service was excellent. The cheese guy made some really good recommendation. The olives guy was very helpful. I was amazed by the spices area; the prices were pretty reasonable and many varieties.
Wonderful market, lots of options, many prices are the best you'll find anywhere, many items you can't find anywhere else, friendly staff, intimate lively atmosphere. I particularly like their prepared foods 🙂
This is my spot. Love the frozen spinach pie trays. Yummy fresh babaghanoush and tasty tziki. Gotta love it. I have never ever had one bad thing to say about this place. It is small, so you may have to say "excuse me" a few times. Some of the patrons are annoying, but the staff rocks, and they are nice.
Now that I'm not in NY anymore, I appreciate this place even more! A pound of chia for $5?!? Fuhgeddaboudit!!
Sahadi's Armenian Style string cheese is delicious. I get in in PA at a local Armenian Market. Wish I lived closer to visit the store in Brooklyn.
