16 Handles
“Move over Red Mango, Pinkberry, and all other froyo places that once held a place in my heart, 16 Handles is now my one and only true froyo love.”
“It was sold to me as a cross between Pinkberry and Tasti D Lite, which both happen to be within a few blocks radius of this place.”
“Had the self serve chocolate with vanilla and GRAHAM CRACKER FLAVORED froyo, topped with reeses, Oreo, kit kat captain crunch, fruity pebbles.”

Salted Caramel
Graham Crackers
Cinnamon doughnut
W/ toppings: Oreos + Gummy Bears + Cookie Dough + Brownie Bites (on bottom.)
Ice cream was good: graham crackers had an odd after taste, but it's not an error it's more just an odd flavor.
The seating: people were loitering. Just hanging out, and taking up 4 seats for just 2 people and having her bag on another seat. And, a parent at one couch, and her daughter on the other couch. Pretty stupid, unnecessarily taking up seating.
The staff(1) was nice and friendly.
So between the staff and the ice cream they've earned 3*
I fought and fought to muster up a 4th star AND COULDN'T. 3.5* if I could.
I came because it is close to my school and i wanted some good frozen yogurt. The place was big and they had many flavors. They had many toppings and the staff is nice. They had a lot of seatings and it was clean. No complaints.
I'm a big fan of 16 handles and this location exceeds my expectations. It's always very clean and never too busy. I love that every time I go there seems to be new flavors to try and they're all amazing. The employees are friendly and helpful. My favorite flavors I've tried so far are salted caramel cookie dough, graham cracker and cinnamon donut.
Let me start this review out by saying I have never been to a bad Froyo place ever in my life so pretty much everywhere will get a 4.
Anyway, this place is as good as all the other places I've been! A great selection of flavors and a great selection of toppings also. I think it's $.64 an ounce (a lil steep compared to the usual $.49 in Philly). Whatever, it was a treat-yo-self kind of day so I did. There is plenty of seating so I hung out for a little while.
I'll definitely be back here!
I have been to a few different 16 Handles location and love how big this one is. They have the best toppings of any fro yo chain in the city, which is what keeps me coming back. Rather than creepy looking dehydrated cookie dough, they have little morsels of delicious cookie dough. All of the candy, fruits, and various toppings always look fresh, and the three women working there were constantly cleaning up behind people to ensure everything was spotless.
I have always heard the fame of 16 Handles but never had the chance to try until last night. As newbies, took us 2-3 minutes to figure out. You take the cup you like, fill as much as you want, add the toppings and sauces, weigh it at the register and time to eat! 🙂
I got the waffle cup (+$1), with acai berry, nutella, peanut butter and mint chocolate chip flavors. I hope frozen yogurts have less calories than ice cream 🙂 topped them with graham crackers, some mini m&m's, crushed chocolate cookies i guess? Whatever 🙂 Acai and peanut were so delicious, mint good but nutella did not taste like nutella at all. It was something else.
Toppings seemed fresh and well organized. 2 cups with waffles cost like $15. They have nice interior and many seats but tables were a bit dirty. I will stop by once in a week i guess. A lot to try 🙂
Solid place for fro yo. It is always clean and they have very friendly staff. Sometimes while you're eating, they even bring around cups of water.
Their fro yo is very fresh tasting, and I usually like the whole array of flavors they provide. There are always a few classics like their peanut butter (excellent) and birthday cake, and then a few new ones. Yesterday, they had the milky cereal flavor which isn't quite as good as momofuku's milk bar, but definitely a contender.
*Also, they have a student discount, so make sure to bring and show your ID!
I forget how good this place is.
I had a craving last night for some froyo, and I offered to get a large and share some bites with the boyfriend. And share I did. But every bite he took was a bite of deliciousness that I could not enjoy. I didn't say anything, but it was almost agonizing.
You probably know the drill: Sixteen Handles has a similar format to other self-serve frozen yogurt shops. Sixteen different flavors are available, each with a fun fact on the label. (Apparently, salted caramel was first popularized in the 1990s by a French pastry chef, and etc.) There are a lot of toppings available. Upon request, you can try unlimited samples. The flavors, both dairy-based and sorbet, are generally pretty solid across the board.
My latest batch was composed of euro tart, birthday cake, and (seasonal) gingerbread with toppings of blueberry, gummy bears, and rainbow and chocolate sprinkles. I took mine to go, but there's some in-house seating here as well.
