Though this ice cream shop was located in a rather isolated part of Brooklyn, the ice cream served did not fail to impress. They only have a few staple flavors to choose from for ice cream – Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Coffee, etc, however, was able to execute even the most basic flavor, Vanilla, quite well. Unlike most ice cream shops which may tend to taste too artificially sweet, this place managed to balance the ingredients and make it taste rather el naturale. 1 scoop – $4.50. 2 scoop – $6.50.
Very good ice cream. I can tell everything is homemade, even the whip cream!! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars because it can be very pricey especially if you add multiple toppings!!!
Came in to fulfill our Fall tradition. Every year around this time, we always find our way to this location for ice cream. Why? I do not know why. It just is like that. Chocolate Chocolate Chunk, you're mine!
There aren't a lot of ice cream options in Greenpoint and my MIL decided to try Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.
First of all, the location is weird, it's on a very quiet end of town basically surrounded by Glasserie only. The store front is small and today was being run by two people who sat on their phones the entire time (we were the only people in their for about 15 minutes). Inside it's really nothing special, kind of bad small town ice cream shop decor.
They only serve a few select flavors. I tried Peaches and Cream and there was a ton of fruit in it but I ended up going with one scoop of Butter Pecan ($4.50). It was pretty good. My MIL had Blueberry, again one scoop with a lot of fruit pieces in it.
Overall, it was overpriced ice cream. I've had some better grocery store stuff. Probably wouldn't go back, especially given the lack of staff enthusiasm. Sad!!!
I really really wish I could buy this ice cream at Key Food or Trade Fair. The ice cream has a creamy rich flavor that is soothing to your throat. NOT EVEN CLOSE to cheaply mass produced bryers or the like.
This is a great treat any time of year but is especially satisfying on a warm summer day.
Great ice cream. That simple. Creamy goodness with a great view.
There are only a couple of flavors, but they are favorites. I had a waffle cone with butter pecan. Well done. Then I was able to enjoy the rest of the Pier.
The inside has a small seating area. But the large patio, which served beer when I went, more than made up for it.
Take a date or family and enjoy the Waterfront and great ice cream.
Don't be put off by their simple, no-frills menu.
Visited this location today with a bunch of my co-workers.
It was a nice walk from our office (in the not so scenic IBZ of Greenpoint), and definitely worth the trip.
The staff was friendly to all of us, and didn't seem intimidated by the massive crowd that I paraded into their small storefront. They didn't even charge me for rainbow sprinkles! The flavor selection is pretty straightforward, but everyone seemed to love what they settled on. If you're in the hood, don't hesitate to pass this place up. Prices are helladecent. Heads up that they are cash only.
Ice cream season has officially begun! Thanks for handling my fix, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory!
came here after repelling with some friends and since it was in the area I decided to stop in. It was a bit out of the way for me (seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere) and it was cash only with at the time was a bit inconvenient, but luckily someone in our group had enough.
We ordered the banana boat with a bunch of different flavors, and I have to say they were all fairly well made. If I'm around or see their trucks or stands at food events I'll be sure to stop in.
