We went with this vendor for a big birthday cake some time ago. My wife knew what she wanted; something simple. Henry did not seem to understand the idea of a simple, non-tacky, gaudy design on a cake. We didn't want a ridiculous Gucci shoe or some horrendously tacky Eurotrash gimmick. Regular, simple cake. Asked for no flowers on it whatsoever. The cake had two when it was picked up.
On top of being a generally good cake (when you consider the price, I'd call it just average, there are way better in this price range in Brooklyn), the lack of being able to listen to instructions (one instruction, really : NO FLOWERS. Rocket science, folks), and the owner's poor attitude (it's truly as if he was having a bad day, every day) , I'd say get your custom cakes elsewhere.
So far, i tried their cheesecake and tiramisu and both are amazing! A friend of mine orders cakes from this bakery for all of her occasions and now I will too. I have not been this satisfied with any other bakery (must say, I've been looking for one I can use for my special occasions).
