Brooklyn Winery
“To accompany the wine, we shared the cured olives and the brussel sprouts (with candied orange and a maple butter).”
“We ordered the Big-Bigger-Biggest flight, which featured the Old Vine Zinfandel, the Syrah, and the Royal Tannin Bomb.”
“i expected a little more from the chicken bites; the mix of so many different types of herbs was too much for every bite.”

What a gorgeous, intimate spot!
I was brought here thanks to groupon, which offered a special on one of their tours during the summer. The tour group was small, maybe 15-20 people max. The actual winery is pretty "small" too – but comparable to a brewery. The tour lasted about an hour if my memory serves correctly, and at the end we were seated in a private room where we sampled about 8 different wines. Included in the tour is a coupon for a free glass of wine to enjoy after the tour has concluded. And let me tell you – these are IMPRESSIVE, LARGE glasses of wine!
I've only ever come here for that instance, but I was passing it the other day after the gym and I noticed they have a great happy hour special – $2 off any glass of wine or $10 off a full bottle (not sure if this is applicable to the half bottles… doubtful). I would definitely be here more for HH if I lived in the area.
Not to mention the staff is very friendly as well. Side note: I believe they do weddings here (err, maybe just "events")!
I looooove wine! I saw a deal for $10 off a wine tour and tasting on Yelp and I quickly hopped on it. They had two tours that particular Tuesday….6:30pm & 8pm.
The restaurant is beautiful! Very woodsy….gave me a Poconos cabin vibe. We went for the 6:30 tour and although we were late, the staff were very friendly and understanding, and quickly got us caught up. We put our coats up, received our souvenir wine glasses, got some Chardonnay in them, and joined the rest of the group.
The group was rather small (about 8 people total). Our tour guide was Sarah. She was very nice, knowledgeable, and informative. She even went back to go over the little that we missed and answered all of our questions.
Once the tour was over, the tasting began. We tasted about 8 different types of white and red wines. I'm not a fan of red wine at all so I drank them but didn't really enjoy them. I liked allllll the white wines. The Zinfandel was my least favorite and the Riesling was the best for me!
The wine was so good and fresh and very potent. If you really liked one, Sarah would pour a little extra…Yasss honey! All the wines were available for sale at very reasonable prices.
The tour is an hour…30 minute tour, 30 minute tasting. It also didn't take long for us to find parking in that area. I definitely plan on returning for the ambiance and the wine.
Classy.
Beautiful.
Tasty.
I ate.
I danced.
I drank.
Great place for a wedding. The food is killer, the staff are all killers and the ambiance is unmatched. I was floored.
Note: I loved their wine parring event. Food were excellent.

I love their wine, food, decor and ambiance. I like their decor which is mostly furnished by woods. I keep going back there and visited there on my birthday, too. Sometimes there is a private event and closed for public. That is a little disappointing, but I understand why people want to have private event there, and someday I wish I could have private event here, too. So it is better going there during week. (Mon- Thu)
I love their food very much as much as I love their wine. Price is from $4 to $18. They are mostly closed on weekend, sometimes they are open, so it is better to check in advance if you will plan to go there.
I was very lucky. My birthday was on Saturday, but when I went there in the afternoon, they were open. I enjoyed their flight. If you become member (free), you can chose more wines for the flight. You can collect points by spending money, you will get rewards.
They have special wine pairing dinner event sometimes. I attended one on September 30, 2014. The event was held a dining room in the back of the standard dining area. This dining room is next to winery area and you can see the barrels through big glass window. There are candle lights and flowers in vases, and the ambiance was very romantic. Food was excellent. I want to go back to the event again.
Easily one of the top days of my life was spent here, my big sister's wedding. That's why I'm giving it my 800th review.
The night is right up there with that time I had a pet raccoon for six hours, and the time I lived with Wade Boggs, or the day I spent wandering through a dark cave thinking I had turned blind and was going to train myself to become Daredevil but actually just couldn't see in the dark. *
Upon arrival they had everything for the people in the wedding. Bites to eat, wine the drink, and last second necessities for those who needed to touch themselves up for the cameras. Thank god for that hair gel.
After awhile I was dragged away from the delicious cheese and wine pairings to take the before mentioned pictures. Ugh, cmon can't people just remember these things. (My sister actually had a video created that looked like something P. Diddy produced)
The reception was beautiful and went without a hitch. My sister looked stunning and she couldn't have married a better guy. The place is easily one of the top wedding venues in all of Brooklyn. I had heard of they did weddings when I came for a tour of the winery before, but until you see one here in person you have no idea how wonderful one here can be.
After the reception drinking resumed, but only after a quick step outside. Upon entering back in I wanted to go back to the groomsmen room, on the second floor, right above the water valve attached the building. Convenient enough the window was open and I had easy access into the place by hopping on the valve. Glad I went up there, I was able to get some great shots of my sister and father dance.
They had wine and beer at the party, the food was amazing at dinner, the staff really went to town. It was a magical night in Brooklyn. My family and I couldn't of been happier.
* *Ok those other things didn't happen.
I love the ambiance and the atmosphere here. It just radiates cool.
Brooklyn Winery makes their own wine, ergo it is a WINERY. You are welcome to get a tour of it sometime, but for some just eating great food and drinking great wine should be good enough.
I had the chance to try a good amount of their food at some point: delicious is what I can say. You really can't go wrong here.
1. Crispy Brussel Sprouts: delicious, definitely should order as it fulfills a category of both a veggie and something good to eat.
2. Ground Turkey and Golden Raisin Meatballs: are actually quite hearty but without being very over powering. Very tasty without filling you up and making you feel too full for the next delicious thing to eat.
3. Duck Pate: who DOESN'T love a good pate? If you don't, I don't want to be your friend.
4. Blackened Catfish: quite good actually. Cooked to perfection – really delicious and light.
5. Warm Raised Donuts: surprisingly light and even though it says ' lavendar sugar' it doesn't taste like a scented candle. It is quite to dish to finish your meal off with.
In terms of wine, I actually preferred most of their red wines versus their best seller Rose. Certainly take your pick, but the red wines were awesome.
Overall, awesome place to come to for delicious food.
Nothing ever truly always goes as planned. I found this little winery on Yelp and fell in love with the photos. I did my research and boarded the L Train to Brooklyn, in hopes of having a flight of wine at this unique establishment. Well not everything goes as planned.
I overlooked a minor detail, one that perhaps happens annually and is actually a pretty huge deal in America. It turns out that since Brooklyn Winery was having an Oscar watching party that night, there would be no tours, tastings, or flights. I was really disappointed after hearing these news since this was the only day during my trip that the winery would be open. The kind waitress noticed my dismay and offered us the best customer service possible. Since flights weren't available, she suggested creating our own. We ordered three different wines and she gave us four extra glasses so that we would still be able to try the wines and have a good time.
This meant so much to me.
Any other person would just slap a "rules are rules" excuse and let it be. She truly went above and beyond. Our waitress also gave us awesome suggestions of things to do in Brooklyn. She was a compassionate young lady and it really showed.
The wines we ordered were the Gewürztraminer, Skin Fermented Chardonnay, and Old Vine Zinfandel. The Gewürztraminer was delightfully crisp and refreshing. It is made of elderflower which contributes to its floral taste. The next one was tried was the Skin Fermented Chardonnay which confuses me a bit with its name. This wine was a unique blend of apricots, black tea, and honey. It had a very round flavor and a unique cloudy experience. It had a milder and neutral taste making it a great everyday wine. The Old Vine Zinfandel had a tart velvety flavor.
I thoroughly enjoyed the wines here, but what gave it a special place in my heart was the atmosphere and the people. The rustic wood, fresh cut wildflowers, and swinging jazz made it the perfect setting for a night (or day) with the girls, a romantic date, or a beautiful wedding. The attention to detail is eminent with the vintage artwork and ornate ceilings. They really did an incredible job at creating a unique space in Brooklyn.
This place is definitely worth a visit, but be sure to check the calendar before you visit. It's a super popular event space, so there are things happening all of the time. The winery offers many of food options as well. The windows offer the best lighting, so photo ops galore!
This place is beautiful, it's a little hidden gem. I say that because without the name of the restaurant on the outside you might actually miss it.
I came here for a Friday 8pm class (wine tour and tasting). With a total cost of $25 per person you're able to get a 30 minute tour of the winery along with 30 minutes of wine tasting.
I have to say everything was well worth it. Our tour guide whose name I've sadly forgot ( Sarah maybe) was awesome and so sweet. She knew a lot about the wines and just had really good energy. This tour and tasting was intimate enough for a date and even good enough for a girls night. I would like to add that of all the wines we tasted ( 6, I believe) we ended up buying two :-)))
If you're ever thinking of a good date night, night out with the girls, etc definitely come here.
5 stars all around and I would definitely come back!
